Apu's Kitchen, a long-standing fast food counter in Phoolbagan, has recently opened a new dining section. The ambiance is nice, and the staff are friendly, but the food quality needs improvement.

Chicken Cheese Sikh Kebab @ Rs.280 (1/5) The Sikh Kebab was a disaster, one of the worst I've had. With only 4 chicken seekh, it was dry, tasteless and had no smokiness. It seemed to have adulterants. Instead of cheese, they used mayonnaise on top that tasted tangy and made it even worse. At Rs. 280, it was a slap on the face.

Apu's Special Mutton Biryani @ Rs.360 (4/5) The Biryani, however, was quite good and a great value. While other places charge Rs. 500-600, they offer a Special Mutton Biryani for Rs. 360 with two pieces of decent-sized mutton, two potatoes, and one egg. The little barista on top added a nice touch. Portion was sufficient for one person.

Seating in the Malkata (the site of an Ancient Egyptian palace complex built during the New Kingdom, by the 18th Dynasty pharaoh Amenhotep III) in the city of Luxor and having dinner with a Pharaoh waiting at your service is just fictional and may be memories from your past life, but when you seat in this resturant (with few seating arrangements - 6-8 coustomer at a time) and wait for your order you may think that you are actually seating in an Egyptian palace for the ambience they exhibit.

Now for the food - the service is quick, as the waiting time for an order of butter chicken and butter nun is roughly 4-6 minutes. The food hygiene and quality are both good enough. This place is totally clean and neat and it is a perfect place to take out your family to. The food is tasty, healthy, a bit spicy and cooked with expert hands. The pocket pinch for this restaurant is moderate (like we rate here in google maps, a couple of ₹ - ₹₹).

Went to this place for a dine out few weeks earlier. They have a small air conditioned area for dining. If you avail this facility they charge 20 to 30 rupees extra for different food items. Good to say they have separate menu with added charges for food items for the air conditioned dine out. Coming to food. We ordered Chicken Tandoori, Sweet n Sour Chicken with Egg Fried Rice. First the only positive thing the potion was good. I had ordered Chicken Tandoori many a times before also. But this time I was disappointed. It was all dry. When I had tried earlier they used to use like good amount of spices but this time it tasted just vague (3/5). Next the Sweet n Sour Chicken was garnished well n tasted good. But they used some kind of fried chicken so the pieces of chicken were very oily (3/5). Talking of the Egg Fried Rice though oily it tasted good with good potions (3/5).
