I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bachchan Dhaba, a popular restaurant located in Kolkata. Known for its delicious North Indian cuisine and welcoming ambiance, Bachchan Dhaba truly exceeded my expectations. I would like to highlight some of the standout dishes I enjoyed during my visit, including the Tandoori Naan, Fish Tikka Butter Masala, Mix Noodles, Tutti Fruity Ice Cream, Thumbs Up, Lassi, and Onion Salad.
The Tandoori Naan at Bachchan Dhaba was an absolute delight. The naan was perfectly baked, soft on the inside, and had a lovely crisp exterior. The flavors were authentic, and the smoky aroma of the tandoor added an extra touch of deliciousness. Pairing it with the rich and flavorful Fish Tikka Butter Masala was a match made in heaven. The fish tikka was tender and well-marinated, while the creamy butter masala sauce was bursting with tangy and aromatic spices. It was an absolute pleasure to savor each bite.
Moving on to the Mix Noodles, I was pleasantly surprised by the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The noodles were cooked to perfection, neither too soft nor too firm. The combination of vegetables and spices added a delightful freshness and made it a wholesome and satisfying dish. The chefs at Bachchan Dhaba certainly know how to create a harmonious fusion of flavors.
For dessert, the Tutti Fruity Ice Cream stole the show. The ice cream was creamy, smooth, and packed with fruity goodness. The vibrant colors and the tantalizing taste made it a refreshing and delightful conclusion to the meal. It's a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth.
To accompany the scrumptious meal, I had Thumbs Up, a popular Indian carbonated beverage, and a traditional Lassi. The Thumbs Up was served chilled and offered a refreshing contrast to the rich and flavorful dishes. The Lassi, on the other hand, was thick, creamy, and had just the right balance of sweetness. It was the perfect accompaniment to the spicy flavors of the main course.
Lastly, the Onion Salad provided a refreshing and crunchy element to the meal. The thinly sliced onions were fresh and tangy, and the hint of lemon added a zesty touch. It acted as a palate cleanser, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The service at Bachchan Dhaba was exceptional. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant had a vibrant and lively ambiance, with comfortable seating arrangements and a welcoming decor.
In conclusion, Bachchan Dhaba at Kolkata is a culinary gem that offers a remarkable dining experience. From the delectable Tandoori Naan and Fish Tikka Butter Masala to the refreshing Mix Noodles and Tutti Fruity Ice Cream, every dish was prepared with precision and attention to detail. The Thumbs Up, Lassi, and Onion Salad added a perfect touch to the meal. If you're in Kolkata and craving authentic North Indian cuisine, Bachchan Dhaba should be at the top of your list. Read moreBoth AC and non AC service available. Located absolutely near to the kalighat metro station. Food is good. Doesn't pinch your pocket too much. Try the Bachan Dhaba's special dishes. It's a family restaurant. Good punjabi food available here. But the plates look quite dirty and old. I think it's time for them to buy some new plates and stuffs with their good amount of profit. They do not provide a printed bill and hence the food comes a little bit cheap. But the main problem which we faced and hence I reduced it's stars is that the cook and people serving the food doesn't cover their head and not once but twice in our plate of biriyani we got a man's hair . First when we ate it a little we got hair in it we called the server and he changed it. Second time biriyani came we checked the top part and it looked fine this time so I took a little bit from it and kept the rest for my friend . When he started eating again there was a hair inside . This time we were so disgusted that we had to leave the whole plate of food there. We didn't want to call the servers again cause sometimes restauranters to hide their own mistake blame it on the customers and after experiencing someone's hair in our food twice we weren't hungry anymore. So we paid our bill and left and decided not to visit again as the food may come a bit cheap and it's tasty but it's unhygienic. And the chicken we had today looked perfectly fine and the gravy tasted great but the chicken was undercooked and a but raw inside. Then what's the difference between having street food and having it from...
Read moreLocated conveniently near Kalighat Metro Station, Bachchan's Dhaba is often bustling with patrons. However, my recent experience there left much to be desired.
Ambience: The restaurant spans three floors—two air-conditioned and one non-AC—but there's little to commend about the ambience. We were initially seated in a waiting area with an unpleasant odor, and despite waiting over 40 minutes to be seated, the poor management allowed others who arrived after us to be seated first.
Service: Once inside, we endured another 30-minute wait before our order was taken, only to find that more than half of the menu items were unavailable.
Food: Our order consisted of: Chicken Kadhai Two Chicken Kormas Mutton Biryani Chicken Biryani Chicken Bharta Seven Garlic Naans Four Mocktails
The total bill for our party of six came to ₹2646. Unfortunately, the quality and quantity of the food did not justify the price. All the gravies tasted remarkably similar, with the Chicken Kadhai and Bharta indistinguishable from each other. The Korma lacked its characteristic sweetness, and the portion sizes of the biryanis were disappointingly small, insufficient even for one person.
Overall: Given the poor service, lack of variety, and disappointing food quality, I would not recommend Bachchan's Dhaba. The experience fell far short of expectations, especially considering the...
