Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Tandoor House, Kalighat, with my students to give them a small treat, and the experience was truly delightful from start to finish. Located conveniently in the heart of Kalighat, Tandoor House offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is perfect for group outings, casual dining, or small celebrations.

From the moment we stepped in, the staff made us feel comfortable with their friendly and attentive service. The restaurant has a cozy and vibrant ambiance, with comfortable seating and tasteful decor that adds to the overall charm of the place. The menu is wonderfully diverse, offering a wide range of North Indian, Mughlai, and Tandoori dishes that are sure to satisfy every palate.

We ordered a variety of items, including their signature Tandoori Chicken, Butter Naan, Paneer Butter Masala, and Chicken Biryani. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors, cooked to perfection, and served hot. The portion sizes were generous, making it ideal for sharing in a group. The students especially enjoyed the rich gravies and the perfectly spiced kebabs.

What made the experience even better was the courteous behavior of the staff, who ensured that we were comfortable and that everything was served on time. The prices are reasonable, offering great value for money, especially considering the quality and quantity of food.

After seeing all the reviews I was eagerly waiting to visit this place. Today we've visited this place for lunch and it was a very bitter experience for us all. We've reached there around 3:30 coz it was raining outside. M sharing my experience one by one. First thing we don't need to wait. After reaching we've collected a token from the reception for a table of 3 on the 1st floor. The ambience was nice. I really like the decorations around the place. But it was heavily congested. Like they've placed the tables just next to each other. And there is no difference in table size for 3/2 persons. Now comes to the food. We've ordered 2 Chinese Combo, 1 Nan- Chicken Chaap Combo and 1 assorted Kebab platter. First n foremost thing every item was damn cold. And when we've complained they were refused to change the dishes. The quality was just worst. It's a very dry kinda noodles. The kebabs were chewy. They've given something like chicken manchurian but all I can taste was the sweetness 😔 M actually shocked with the quality they're providing. The Tandoor House Gariahat and The Tandoor House Lake Mall has a lot of differences, where the Gariahat being the sky and Lake Mall being the land. They have tried to accommodate a lot of people there by cramping the spaces in between the tables. Thereby quantity over quality. The food quality has deteriorated. We odered Butter chicken masala, which was chicken curry dipped in sugar syrup and cardamom, the tandoori roti was under cooked. The chicken wings and chicken sweet corn soup was however edible. The table adjacent to us got stale food and they left. We had 2 luggage bags, to which they said, we do not have space to keep them, in short - please do not visit us with luggage. The waiters were very unhygienic about how they served, they scratched over places in front of us, including other places (not to be mentioned). As we asked for the number of manager or the owner. The manager tried to trick us by saying they don't have any provision and the manager was not present. He introduced himself as Sumon Roy. Their body language was we don't care if few people do not like us, you may leave.

In short Tandoor house cheap food, stale, and unprofessional staffs. When you pay you expect good food.
