Second House — Restaurant in Kolkata

Went to this place on a Saturday. The place had a decent crowd when we reached the place. I liked the fact that they have a separate room where they serve hookah, and a separate dining space.

We ordered the following things at Second House restaurant:

Drums of Heaven Cheese Fondue Peshawari Murg Tikka Junglee Murg Tikka Mixed Hakka Noodles Mixed Fried Rice Hot Garlic Chicken Chilli Fish

The drums of heaven was a bit disappointing. The size of the chicken were inconsistent and there was more bones than meat on the piece I got.

The cheese fondue was great. It had the right consistency. It tasted good. Also, the complementary items served with the fondue were really nice. They served it with nachos, pieces of garlic bread, and a good amount of sauteed vegetables.

Both the tikka kebabs we ordered were amazing. The pieces of the chicken were succulent and well-marinated. They served it with mint chutney and onion in cream. I liked both the kebabs.

The main items we ordered were also great in terms of quality and quantity. I loved the fact that both mixed fried rice and noodles had good amount of chicken and prawns. The hot garlic chicken was also good.

My friends also ordered alcohol and according to them, the prices were comparatively reasonable. However, the place didn't have a few items (alcohol) that my friends were asking for.

Another fact that we didn't like is that they were blasting peppy Indian pop songs, even though we repeatedly asked them to turn it down. They did turn the volume down towards the end, but we couldn't hear ourselves properly while we were there, due...

Situtated in the kalighat area of south kolkata, the bar is situated in the backdrop of old Calcutta surrounded by beautiful, old, sturdy and aesthetically pleasing houses with some amazing architecture. Talking about the place, its clean, comfortable, quirky and a good place to hang out with friends and family alike. The bar section has a seperate space for hookah lovers with good ambience. The drinks section is quite lit with a variety of products available under alcoholic and some products for non alcoholic beverages. The food is good would rate it 8.5/10. The serivce is quick and crisp would rate it 7/10 and the place is comfortable but lacks space in the hookah section would rate it 6.5/10. The ambience of the place is good but the lighting is not up to the mark could have been better would rate it 6/10. Second house attracts a good crowd and the staff serves with passion. All-in-all a good place for relaxing as well as good dining experience. The photographer was kind enough to ask for permission before clicking any pictures would rate the service as 10/10. It has a restaurant, guest rooms, and a banquet area for events like weddings and parties all in one. situated in close proximity to the Lake Market. We went there for Durga Puja. The large reception area is ideal for those who are photogenic. Additionally, they gave the guests who were waiting at Launge free water service. We had to wait for almost two and a half hours during our visit to Durga Puja, which was quite unexpected. Even so, the manager's behavior is excellent. Finally, we were given our spot.

The also has a buffet system and has dedicated hookah space for hookah lovers and varieties of drinks available at an affordable cost that's the speciality of the Second House.
