Have had a rather displeasing experience with this outlet , which was thoroughly unexpected and embarrasing .. Last saturday (Jamai Sasthi) went to score our fave Daab Sandesh , it was unavailable leaving a single on the tray on which I pounced and got a kg of mishti doi. Being a typical bong on a hot afternoon , requested for 100 gms to have at the outlet , as I went for payment , I was informed that you cannot pay for the 100gms dahi though UPI which was a part of my total bill including , 1kg mishti doi..1 pc Daab Sandesh... 1 plastic bag (chargeable @5 rs) . My immediate question was , why not and I further explained I have parked my car a lil too far off and not carrying cash with me . All my reasonings fell in deaf ears , the other question came to me was , do u have cash else we cannot give this.. there were other customers shocked and discussing about this incident , I said I really dont have my wallet with me , so the cashier instructed the other counter person , put that 100 gms dahi back.. Told them this is unacceptable and I am going to complaint , they were neither sorry for the episode nor tried to find a way out.. It was a stern blank look at his cell phone which made me drop my case pay and leave the outlet as soon as possible .. Is this the kind of customer service you guys believe in. Was repenting for going there instead of Ghosh / Nabanna irrespective of quality atleast they know how to behave.. really sad from a brand...

Read moreI bought a lot of sweets including baked rosogolla and others.
Unfortunately just after coming home I tried the baked rosogolla, and it was sour from the inside. What I've heard is that they invented the baked rosogolla, but I've had wayyy better baked rosogollas at other places, that's surprising. Balaram's baked rosogolla was hard, too thick and not overall good in taste.
Tried their 'Amriti' , it tasted absolutely horrendous , me and my family had just one bite, and threw away the rest of it. Couldn't eat the whole thing as it had some really weird smell (not rotten but was just not edible ) .
Tried the baked chamcham, it tasted so artificial and synthetic, again I've had way better at other brands.
Similarly but surprisingly, I tried multiple sweets and none of them were upto the standards, taste wise.
We bought sweets worth rs 500 But was asked to pay extra for carry bags. At a sweet shop? Seriously? Also prices are high, which we are willing to pay if they can deliver the best items, not for average, bad tasting products.
If anyone thinks their baked rosogolla and other sweets are the best , then unfortunately you haven't gotten the chance to try out some of the BEST...
