EXCELLENT FOOD, EXCELLENT STAFF, A BACK DATED MANAGER RUINING FUTURE OF THE RESTO!
Hongkong is a very old Chinese resto in Kankurgachi. Taste is best in the world, yes I am sincerely writing this , best Chinese you can ever have. Special Noodles or any gravy noodles is must must have, Fried rice is excellent, Dry chilly chicken or pork is super. Gravy items also very tasty.
Only problem is this restaurant has a very old Manager who feels Zomato Swiggy or any online purchase is bad. Only people should come and eat or takeaway. Doesnt have the knowledge how many people wont be able to come and eat here due to distance or work, even if they are interested and now a days 100 other restaurant options are open online which u can order from home in few seconds.
When this restaurant was built there was no other options, but now they are many but only the old manager doesnt understand the difference and he is living in old 90s and losing customer everyday.
Owner is very nice and real Chinese but she wont be able to come and given all responsibility to this manager who is ruining the restaurant's better business every day.
If you find time to go there and eat or takeaway no taste is better than it. but can you make it even if u like from Thakurpukur to Kankurgachi? ...
Read moreThis is not thd first time I visited hong Kong restaurent. It's a very old one in kolkata. But after a long time I have visited once more time here after pendamic situation and realized the food quality and standard has decorated a lot and my observation this is the most third class restaurant even the street food noodles and Chinese foods are better than this restaurant. I have taken four things ( veg Friedrice, chicken noodles , chilli panner and chilli chicken) as take away. The quantity and the quality they have given is like the bill should not be more than Rs.400 max. But they charged Rs. 1200/- from me. Furthermore, after coming back home as a curiosity I have checked recent menu card in zomato and their listed site, it's really surprising that they have taken around Rs. 40-50 more in every menu. As a customer it's not easy to earn money, this type of fraud restaurant should...
Read moreHong Kong is a place after my heart and I am shamed to say that I discovered it only yesterday. It is a tiny restaurant still run in an old-fashioned way by a Chinese family patronized largely by the Chinese folks of Calcutta. The food is delicious and wholesome in a very homely way. We tried the prawn foyoung which was an omelette with finely chopped vegetables and fresh shrimps. It was everything an omelette should be, slightly creamy in the middle, soft and fluffy. The Hong Kong special gravy chowmein was loaded with chicken, prawns, capsicum, carrots, bok choy, and cut up fried eggs. The garlic chicken was mildly sweet and sour, and the chicken was soft and crunchy - I could tell that it had been fried just minutes before it was put in the sauce. Brilliant. I highly recommend Hong Kong to people who care more about the food and the love with which it is served than...
