As the name suggests this place is for people who are true biriyani lovers and I feel those who are not will definitely fall on love once they try out their biriyani . Biriyani company has taken rebirth with the name of Biryanishk with some great addition to variety and uniqueness . They have 7 outlets in Kolkata of which the Southern Avenue outlet has sitting facilities . Mainly they focus on deliveries in which they provide biriyani portions for solo serving , small buckets of biriyani which is meant for 2-3 people and large buckets which is enough for 5-6 person alongside other dishes from the menu . Most importantly you need to order ahead of time as they require minimum 3 hours to prepare each biriyani . Believe me they prepare it will full dedication so that your wait is worth each second . Few days back I got an opportunity to try out some of their culinary artworks so I went to this outlet which is located just behind Mudiali club . It takes on 5 mins of walk from Rabindra Sarobar metro station / Tollygunge rail station . Taking about the decor , it's lovely soothing and we'll maintained . So now let's get to the dishes I tried . There were few kebabs to begin the show •Tilli kebab : Boneless chicken kebabs coated with white sesame seeds . Both the flavours of sesame and tender chicken kebabs balanced well . •Mutton Galauti kebab : On of my favourites when it comes to kebab and this one didn't disappoint me. Mutton paste cooked with lots of spices and served with lachcha paranthe underneath . The Galauti kebab just melts in our mouth . •Anguri kebab : Another form of chicken kebab which mixed with grapes and presented in the form of small cylindrical shaped kebabs ( it looked like seekh kebab ) it was better in taste than the former chicken kebab variation •Kumbh Bhatti tandoor : small muchrooms mixed with lots of indian spices and cooked inside tandoori to infuse the smokiness in it. Another stunning creation of this place which deserves credit . Then then mains took the show forward . First came •Mutton dudhiya biriyani : This is a special dish of Rampuri cuisine . This style of cooking biriyani includes the use of govindovog rice , milk , cottage cheese and spices . The slow cooked mutton pieces on the top of it are actually the show stealer . It tastes completely different from our regular biriyanis and is very light . The beauty lies in the uniqueness of the preparation. •Chicken bharta : they served a classic boneless chicken bharta to go with the mutton biriyani . •Classic Kolkata biriyani : I feel, nobody has doubt regarding the fact that people of Kolkata love potato in their biriyani and yes this style of biriyani has all the basic necessities for a bong biriyani lover. Served with a huge piece of chicken . Most importantly less oily hence everyone can easily indulge into the sin of eating a whole plate of biriyani . •Mutton chap : The chicken biriyani was paired with an outstanding mutton champ which is little oily ( but that's how it's prepared ) but the taste is on point . You won't stop licking your fingers after finishing the meal . Their biriyanis doens't have any egg in it but that won't affect your excitement as they provide a complimentary egg salan with every tub of biriyani . That's not all , buy a tub of any biriyani and you get seeds of different plants to grow some greens in it . So that everything gets used up to its best . This green initiative takes them one step ahead of others . We finished out meal on a sweet note and what better than a bowl of firni which perfectly balances it's sweetness . Definitely I would look forward to try many of the items again and again .Lastly service was a bit slow but the food made up for everything . It was too good . For further queries ask in the comment section below .

Coastal Cuisine is one genre which I am particularly fond of. And whenever I come across any outlet serving the same, I do keep the same on my checklist of 'places to visit'. The place is a 'Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' kind of an outlet, which serves Mughlai food under the name of 'Biryanishk by The Biryani Company' and Coastal Cuisine under the name of 'Pappadam', all huddled under one roof. Contrary to the rather quirky metaphor I used, there's nothing sinister cooking out there. Instead, I see much promise in the vast array of food they have to offer, under both the identities. And the decor is neatly done with bright mustard yellow walls, a medium sized aquarium (don't expect the fishes, squids and crabs in the menu floating out there) and wooden furniture to complete the look. So, my first tryst with this place was marked by me ordering their Malabar Paratha and Mysore Mutton Sukka. The Malabar Paratha was crisp yet soft enough to tear by two fingers. It's the Mutton Sukka that piqued my interest. Tender and succulent, decent sized chunks of almost boneless Mutton, came adorned in a dry gravy. However, the fiery flavours so typical of the Sukka down South, was somewhat missing. It was a rather subdued version of what I am familiar with. However, the notes of Garam Masala, Star Anise, Fennel and Black Pepper were evident and left a distinct aftertaste, which did redeem things to a larger extent. In spite of being somewhat subdued in the fiery factor, the dish was indeed pleasant. While having a friendly banter with the server, I learnt that the Chef had deliberately kept the overall flavours 'balanced', but I do feel there will be room for certain 'adjustments' in the forthcoming visit. This place certainly demands further visits. I am currently sticking to a rating of 4 out of 5, until I taste their other items including the Sukka, the next time around.

Ok. I say this rarely but this one's a gem... Tucked away in a not so evident bylane of Mudiali with not many restaurants around or clogged by famous eateries, chances are high you missed it and no one would blame you if you did. Do not get confused by the name biriyani Ishq as being just another biriyani place in a city lost in its hunt amidst hundreds of biriyani spots. While their biriyani is great, what packs a punch is their coastal menu - Goan, Mangalorean, Konkan and Kerelian. Yes within biriyani Ishq is another restaurant called pappadam which specialises in coastal cuisine which makes this deal even more exhilarating. Kerela mutton, mutton pasted galawti kulcha, cheese and pyare kebab for starters along with a glass of borhani for palate cleansing. The chilli in the drink i can assure you packs the right punch with the sourness of the yogurt. Followed by spicy mangalorean ghee roast prawns and neer dosa. Should be half ful by now. Next in appam with chicken istew. Coconut base with warm rich creamy gravy with hints of curry leaves and yet a subtle taste. Particularly soothing after the spicy prawns. Follow it up by zaffran mutton biriyani. I can assure you will have no more space to gobble up. Yet what meal can end without a firni classic for me but can be nolen gur, chocolate or strawberry if you so want. Owner is a lovely chatty fellow. The staff on their toes and brilliant. But the real deal is the chef. Knowledgeable passionate and experimental makes the experience even better. Lots parking except pujo time.

Kolkata is famous for its biriani and if you are a biriani lover then Birianiishq by the Biriani company has to be your must go to place. This place is a true hidden gem and popular not only for its biriani but also for other mughlai dishes. The portion of biriani include solo serving which is for 1person, small bucket for 3 people and large buckets for 5-6 people. As a green initiative they sends out seeds with every bucket of biriani which ca be planted after consumption. Another best thing is that they serve egg salan with each type of biriani. Location- This outlet of Birianishq is located on the lane next to Mudiali Club which is very close to Rabindra sarovar metro station. I had tried their signature dishes among them Gobindobhog dudhia biriani was the showstopper. Aroma of this dudhia biriani is very different from regular biriani and the taste was just amazing. Tender mutton and gobindobhog rice cooked in milk and mild spices. It was too light and delicious. If you want to try this then you have to place your order 3hrs. in advance. classic Kolkata Biryani (chicken) was also good and less oily with a tender piece of potato which is the most important thing of kolkata biriani. Tilli kebab, Galawati kebab,Anguri Kebab, kumbh bhatti tandoor are the recommended dish from their starter section. Anguri kabab is very unique prepared with minced chicken and grapes or angur. Kumbh bhatti tandoor is prepared with mushroom and perfect starter for veg lovers. mutton champ, chicken bharta from the sides are recommended. Mutton champ was truely lipsmacking I opted for firni to end up the royal meal. Staffs here are courteous and service was upto the mark. Overall i had a wonderful experience. Definitely going to visit this...
