Café Coffee Day - Bansdroni — Restaurant in Kolkata

If you think bad service can’t get any more absurd, think again.

Had an extremely disappointing experience at Cafe Coffee Day, Bansdroni, Kolkata on 22nd July.

Half the items on their menu were mysteriously “unavailable” — yet, the very same items were showing as available for online delivery from that exact branch. When enquired they agreed that they have it but will not sell to in-house customers. Again, they flat-out refused to serve a regular cappuccino, insisting they “only have” the hazelnut cappuccino at the moment — which, unsurprisingly, is costlier. Seriously, how can you not have a basic cappuccino but have a flavoured, more expensive version ready to go?

It got worse. They even refused to sell us the packets of chips that were right there on display, claiming they were “for online delivery orders only.” We were absolutely flabbergasted. At this point, it was hard not to feel like they were annoyed because we didn’t order their overpriced sandwiches along with our coffees.

The cashier’s tone didn’t help either — repeatedly telling us to “check the bill” in a sarcastic manner. Honestly, when you’re paying ₹500 for just two cups of coffee, you expect far better service and basic courtesy.

It was all clean, bright and aesthetic. By the looks of it, it checks every point as a cafe. The price is like any decent cafe . You can compare it to Starbucks for the price comparison, it's pretty similar. The taste is good enough. We tried something called " devil's own" or something like that , it was really good, it was one of the recommendations, but the best seller drink of them was a 1 star graded for us . Not recommending. Haven't tried any snacks. Can't say anything about it.

Clean and decent washroom. Enough seats and table. Good enough service. Several outlets in case you want to bring your electronic devices.

Again the same thing happened with me. I asked for cafe Mocha they said only white Mocha is available. Today Jyotiprurva was serving me. She asked me if I want it strong or not. I said yes. Then I told just one shoot is enough. She charged me for an extra shoot of espresso. What’s wrong with you. 480 bucks for coffee.
