Chowman — Restaurant in Kolkata

Had an absolutely pathetic experience. I have visited Chowman behala multiple times now, and the experience have gone progressively downhill, and my latest visit will be the last, I won't visit even if I have to go hungry all day. First of all, the ambience used to be calm and soothing, pretty enjoyable, but now its very loud, it is hard to even hear the person sitting across you. It is incredibly difficult to flag someone down to place an order, because almost every single one of the staff tried to ignore us. We could place an order only when a person came to clear out the table next to us. Each table is equipped with a device with buttons for calling a waiter, asking for water, etc. but it does not seem to work. even though the device lights up, no one responds. The water glasses were unclean and greasy, with a greasy smell, same for the plates. Seeing their pathetic behaviour we ordered only Veg hakka noodles and garlic chicken. The noodles despite being veg, had barely 3-4 pieces of carrot, no taste/ seasoning at all, felt like I was chewing boiled noodles with a peek of carrot and some green bits. they say that the noodles serve 1-2 people, but its too less for 2 people. The chicken gravy had the texture similar to that of (sorry to say but be aware before reading) a nasal mucus. I had to peel that off of the chicken pieces before I could put it into my mouth. Plus the chicken had an old stale smell mixed with smell of phenyl. After that, we didn't have to even flag down someone to get the bill, it was brought to us promptly, thus proving that good food is not even the least of their concern, money is all they care for. We paid and left. Not wasting a penny...

Ended our durga puja feast with Chowman on Doshomi. Was expecting a long wait for table , but luckily we got through.

They very cleverly printed their SHARODIYA menu on the dining paper sheet.

We ordered Mixed Rice Noodles aka Mehfoon . Ample amount of protein , didn't skimp out on the quantity of prawns, egg, and Chicken. The texture and taste of the rice noodles delivered on point. Along with that there was Schezwan Chicken, which had 12 good pieces of chicken. Good ratio between meat and coating, moderately spiced(if u eat hella spicy like me) .

Actually we wanted to order Butter Garlic Fish but they said Basa fish was not available it was just Bhetki which had the price of 610 rupees hence we went with the chicken side dish.

Mixed riced noodles was 440 rupees and Schezwan Chicken was 395. They charged 40 rupees gst , hence the total bill came down to 877/-

Both the quality and quantity of the dishes went hand in hand . The service provided was really helpful and polite. Had an amazing experience at Chowman Behala. Would love to visit...

Very very bad food quality as well as quantity which is promised not given....They are fraud and very arrogant behaviour wise especially the BEHALA BRANCH.... I've been suffering with them since a long time then I'm finally writing this...I had an issue on 10th & today as token they're giving something to me and after ordering today same thing happened and they're blaming that I'm doing wrong with them they're lier and they don't even trust Customer... The customer service is horrible I must say and no one should order from there!!!!!!!!!! 🙏 Not bad...
