Highly unprofessional staff. Me and my family wanted to sit in the cafe but we were told that there was a party going on but we didnโt see any ongoing party nor customers. So instead we wanted to purchase a cake. We asked Shweta (North East girl, dressed in black) for the price of a specific cake and she quoted $5000. We requested a menu and she said they didnโt have a menu. Then she ignored us and started helping another client. We inquired another staff for the price of the cake and after checking his phone, he said it was $2000. We asked asked for the menu again to see the correct price since it kept changing but they didnโt want to give us the menu. We requested Shweta to speak to the manager but then she pretended to find the menu card. In the end, we were fed up of their horrendous service and left. Being a 5-Star hotel cafe, they donโt keep a menu card nor treat their customers with respect. We felt that Shweta was being very judgmental and wanted to get rid of us since the beginning. Highly unprofessional staff and service.
I would not recommend this place to others might as well visit JW Marriottโs bakery, Kookie Jar or Flurys. They have better service and fresher products at...
ย ย ย Read moreWe usually don't eat out at five star places; rather look for hidden gems with quality and affordable price. This place was for a change as I had a meeting at the ITC Royal Bengal. So we thought to have a lunch here for a change. Must say, after my experience here, food can be termed as authentic as it gets. For example, we ordered French Onion Soup and Caesar Salad. Never had such flavorful French onion soup. The piece of extremely soft bread with cheese half submerged was pure delight. The salad was best that I had in Kolkata and very close to real caesar salad, which includes only quality lettuce, cheese and the homemade caesar dressing with chicken pieces, of course. No other ingredient to adulterate authenticity. Also had Mushroom Risotto, Croque Madame and Korean Rice Bowl with Chicken Fries. Risotto was fantastic, very creamy, cheesy and with quality ingredients. Croque Madame is a French ham and cheese sandwich with an egg on top. Very tasteful and very French. The weakest link was, perhaps, the rice bowl. It was good, but not the wow type. To add, all dishes were very filling. To summarize, the food was truly five star, unlike to be had in other food...
