We are having our dinner tonight at this  restaurant serving authentic Orinental  Cuisine located an the ITC Sonar . The following is my  experience at the restaurant ( Rating in a Scale of 5, 5 being highest):- A. Location : At Ground Level Annexe of ITC Sonar Hotel on EM Byepass near Park Circus connector. Slightly off route if you are living in the city(Rating 4) B. Cuisine : Authentic Oriental Cuisine. (Rating 4.5) C. Ambience: The decor of the place is simple but merts the standard that you expect in any fine dining restaurants in a 5 star hotel. Silver grey and black spacious interior. Apart from standard seating table, there is a separate high stool styled seating area. There is a live grill counter as well to give you a feel of the live oriental kitchen.(Rate 4.5). D. Food tried : We started with Prawn Tempura Roll (Rs.1950). Followed by Wok Fried Noodles with Tiger Prawn(Rs. 1075). The starter had 5 large prawn battered fry in Tempura style and served with Soya Ginger sauce. Prawns were well prepared, succulent and perfectly crisp fried. Wok Fried Noodles were deep fried and served with gravy with exotic vegetables like tells and red bell pepper, zucchini, baby corn, broccoli and small tiger prawn. It was great on pallate. Quantity was enough for two moderate eaters like us and value for money. We ended our dinner with Coconut ice cream topped with Coconut jelly (Rs. 675). It was not coconut ice cream as mentioned in the menucard served but Vanilla Ice cream topped with coconut milk and coconut jelly. It was served on a baby coconut shell. Though the dish was tamed as signature dish, I didn't found it anything special to highlight. However, (Rating 4) E. Food taste: Food was well prepared and quantity was sufficient ( Rating 4.75) F. Food presentstion : Food presentation was good as  you expect in a fine dining restaurant of its class in a 5 star hotel. (Rating 4.75). G. Service: The  service of the restaurant is excellent. The staff was very courteous. Food was served reasonably fast. The small surprise was kept at the end. Since it was our Anniversary Dinner, we were presented with a complimentary small cake with a candle lit to make our evening special. We were touched with this nice gesture(Rating 5). H. Value for money: With Rs. 4366 for the proper meal for 2 of us, it was quite reasonable considering it is a fine dining restaurant .(Rating 4.5) I. Overall experience : Good (Rating 4.75)

I chose Pan Asian- ITC Sonar, for my birthday celebration! I had an urge to visit this place for quite a long time and the thought always remained clinging! Right from the beginning, we were having a sober experience over there. From greeting to serving, staff behaviour was phenomenal! Long story short, hospitality was on the positive side of the integer scale! Now let's spot some light on the major part- The Food. We went to a buffet! So obviously, it went like starters➡ main course➡ dessert. Here's a twist! Before setting foot in the restaurant, we checked the rates of buffet in Zomato. Coz that's what Zomato is for; Right? There it's written that for 1499 you get a Sunday brunch with super premium spirits! (Platinum package) (Keep this point in mind. I'll get back to you on this in the end. This is the initiation of all the misunderstandings! ) Starters were really lip smacking! If you wanna taste a blend of Japanese and Chinese food; then THIS, my dear is you drill! Main course was fine too! Don't miss the prawn and the coconut chicken on a stick! Those were my favourites! With all these food, you need something to comfort your oesophagus! Here comes the drinks. We had red and white wine! Bacardi White Rum! Absolut Vodka! And cocktails with different blend of alcohols! Dessert comprised of Sushi (the best part for me), cheesecake, hot chocolate brownie and many more! After an afternoon well spent, we asked for the cheque and came to know that food was NOT included in the 1499 Sunday brunch buffet! While it's no where clearly written that 1499 is for the DRINKS ONLY! Neither did they let us know in the beginning! So , my request is, don't get swayed by the price written in Zomato, it's only for the spirits. For food, you need to pay Rs. 2600+ tax separately! The staff might not mention this to you. Coz they have a bizarre thought that if you pave your way to a 5 star restaurant, you need not know the price of food you're ordering! You can manage to pay any amount they produce in accordance with their not- conveyed curriculum! This might sound just normal to some, but not to me. So I posted this! Hope it helps. :)

For an upscale Asian Restaurant, this place is rather disappointing. The food was acceptable only the fish was kinda odd. We didn’t finish it. Reasons for the average rating 1) For the amount of cooks in the kitchen, and comparing to the number of tables maybe 6 tables? It was a long wait for the food for just stir fried vegetables. 2) We ordered steam jasmine rice and they served basmati as “default” (only rectified it after I asked) 3) For a restaurant that is located in the vicinity of a 5 star hotel with a placard asking people to “scan here for menu” there is no free WiFi for non hotel guests? They offered a hotspot tethering, which was slower than a dialup modem and when the waiter walked away, so did the hotspot. 4) For an Asian restaurant that serve multiple Chinese cuisines from Cantonese to Szechuan. Please educate your staff or have a decent sized Chinese RICE bowl. It was like playing goldilocks with the waiter too big and too small (looked like a joke) but not the rice size. I think having a Chinese rice bowl is absolutely basic and fundamental. If I had to go back, it would only be for the vegetable stir fry. And I would bring my own RICE bowl.

My recent dining experience at Pan Asian, ITC Sonar in Kolkata was nothing short of spectacular, thanks in large part to the exceptional talents of Chefs Varun and Pramod.

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, it was evident that we were in for something extraordinary. The ambiance at Pan Asian is a harmonious blend of elegance and comfort. It sets the stage for what would become an unforgettable culinary journey.

The highlight of the evening was, of course, the food. Chef Varun and Chef Pramod's culinary expertise shone brightly in every dish we savored. The sushi was a work of art, with the freshest ingredients and impeccable presentation. The dim sum was a revelation, with delicate flavors that melted in the mouth. Their culinary prowess extended to the main courses as well, where each dish was a burst of authentic Asian flavors.

What made our experience truly exceptional was the personalized attention from Chefs Varun and Pramod. They not only showcased their passion for the cuisine but also took the time to explain the intricacies of each dish, sharing their culinary wisdom and love for their craft. Their dedication to excellence was evident in every bite we enjoyed, and it elevated our dining experience to new heights.

The service provided by the staff at Pan Asian was equally commendable. The entire team worked seamlessly to ensure that we felt welcome and cared for throughout our meal. It was a testament to the commitment of everyone at the restaurant to provide a top-notch dining experience.

To complement the extraordinary food, the wine and cocktail selections were equally impressive. The staff's recommendations, paired with our dishes, further enhanced the overall experience.

In conclusion, Pan Asian at ITC Sonar Kolkata is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary haven where the art of Asian cuisine is masterfully showcased. The dedication and passion of Chefs Varun and Pramod are the soul of this establishment, and it's evident in every aspect of the dining experience. If you're seeking an unforgettable culinary journey, look no further.

A heartfelt thank you to Chefs Varun and Pramod for their artistry and to the entire Pan Asian team for an evening of culinary delight. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to savor more of their culinary magic. It's no wonder that this restaurant is renowned, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an extraordinary...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Pan Asian restaurant at ITC Sonar in Kolkata, and I must say it was an unforgettable culinary experience.

From the moment I entered, I was welcomed by the elegant ambiance and a warm, courteous staff who made sure every detail of our dining experience was impeccable. The soothing and stylish decor of the restaurant created the perfect atmosphere for a special evening.

The highlight of the evening, of course, was the food. Pan Asian's menu is a delightful fusion of flavors from across Asia, and every dish we tried was a masterpiece. The sushi was incredibly fresh, the dim sum delicate and bursting with flavor, and the main courses were simply exceptional. Each dish was expertly prepared and beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's talent and dedication to perfection.

What truly stood out to me was the attentiveness of the staff. They were not only knowledgeable about the menu but also eager to assist with any dietary preferences or allergies, ensuring that our dining experience was personalized and enjoyable. The service was impeccable throughout the evening.

To top it all off, the dessert selection was a sweet finale to our meal. The innovative desserts were a testament to the creativity of the pastry chef, and I found them to be the perfect conclusion to our delightful journey through the flavors of Asia.

In addition to the food, the extensive wine and cocktail menu offered a diverse selection that perfectly complemented our meal.

In summary, the Pan Asian restaurant at ITC Sonar is a culinary gem in Kolkata. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner, a family celebration, or a business meeting in a remarkable setting, Pan Asian at ITC Sonar delivers an exceptional experience. The quality of the food, the service, and the ambiance is top-notch, making it a must-visit for any food enthusiast in the city.

I can't wait to return to Pan Asian and explore more of their delectable offerings. It's no surprise that this restaurant has earned a stellar reputation, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.
