FOODLAND — Restaurant in Kolkata

I took away a two kilo chicken biriyani with a chicken lababdar as side dish at the Phoolbagan outlet and was appalled to see the tiniest container for the complimentsry raita. It might be sufficient for one plate of biriyani, but a joke to commensurate for Biriyani portion that is meant to be shared by three folks. You should either stop this gimmick or provide a decent quantity (at least 100ml) proportionate with the ordered qty. When I raised this, the guy at the counter was not only unapologetic, but was outrightly rude. While I am yet to taste the much touted and hyped dish, the entire experience at your counter left an unpleasant taste in me, a first time customer. While you may use the best ingredients, a spic and span kitchen, the best chefs, however, if your front desk doesn't have the customer orientation, it doesn't bode well for repeat business as well as I for one would not be a Foodland advocate and endorser.

Update after having the food: the biryani was very well made and the lababdar was delectable as well..also, the owner was gracious enough to acknowledge ..changing my rating from one star to three stars.

A BIG NOOO, PLZ READ IT OUT... Friends, I am a food lover and I had worse experience ever in my life with the service and quality of food they offer. I ordered 2 biryanis and they took around 20-25 mins just to parcel 2 Biryanis. I continuously kept asking why they are taking so much time just to pack up 2 Biryani and they continuously kept saying they are preparing raita which is taking more time. Trust me, the quantity of raita is not more than a 5 rupees of Amul butter container. Now, coming to taste and quality - it's just HORRIBLE! Stale Food! One who is trying Biryani for first time here, will dare to try it for next time. Trust me, it was really so. A hundred rupees street Biryani is way better than this. While I share my experience with my friends, I got to know that they already had such experience with other dishes as well. Extremely dissatisfied with owner's behaviour when asked for refund. Honestly, I felt cheated!!! Wouldn't recommend you at all. Try these nearby restaurants - Apu's Kitchen/Pangong/Drumstick (little costly)/Dinner House. you will get way better-quality food and I am sure you will...

If the quality is the first matter then this food joint deserve 100/100 . Quantity is good. Price is very affordable (specially if you compare the price accordingly with there quality and quantity). They maintain hygiene properly. The sitting arrangement is only a little issue but anyone can makeup there little issues by there good behaviour and hospitality. And on this point they again get 100 on 100. The Hospitality and behaviour of the owner and stuffs can win the heart 💓 (specially the helpful behaviour to senior citizens like my mom is Exemplary for all Service provider). We vist this restaurant first time today and tried jugalbandi kebab(must try), shahi paneer( really 'shahi'.... Quality of the raw paneer is too good) butter naan( good and huge), mutton...
