Subhas Sarobar Park, located in Kolkata, is a delightful oasis amidst the bustling city. Named after the iconic freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose, the park offers a serene and picturesque environment for visitors to unwind and connect with nature.
The park's main attraction is the sprawling lake, which serves as a focal point for recreational activities. Boating facilities are available, allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely ride on the tranquil waters, taking in the scenic surroundings. The lake is also home to a variety of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts.
The well-maintained gardens and lush green spaces of Subhas Sarobar Park provide a perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Subhash Sarobar can be reached by walking down the side alley at the Joramandir stop of Beleghata. The four figures say, I, Alodi, Sonalidi, Mayadi. I came back from here a few months ago. The pictures were not shared with you. I got the lockdown time at that time. The environment around Subhash Sarovar, the parks are also very beautiful. We couldn't resist the urge to take pictures. The scenery of the leafy season of Subhash Sarovar is like a Russian landscape. As a child, we used to have Russian book fairs at school and elsewhere. Of course, I used to stare at the opening of the book fair. I bought a set of 16 picture postcards from one such book fair. Here are some pictures from that picture postcard. Since then I have wanted to go to big Russia হলেও even if I haven't gone to Russia yet, it will definitely happen. Until then, the taste of Russia can be met in Subhash Sarovar. I have been coming to Subhash Sarovar since my childhood. I used to play cricket as a child. At that time some of us girls used to come to Subhash Sarovar to take cricket coaching from Kalyan Mitra. When we were in Roy para quarter, there was a girl in a house in front of us, Tanuja Samanta. Tanuja used to play in the Bengali team. I used to admire him very much. At that time I was a fan of two cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar and Tanuja Samanta. I went with Tanuja and got admitted in a club in Maniktala. We used to coach there first. However, my mother did not treat me like a mother who takes me to cricket coaching camps with her boys. I have always traveled alone everywhere. Since then, the Subhash Sarovar region has been...
Read moreIt was my first time visiting this place. What can I say ... I'm just awestruck by the sheer beauty of nature! 🤍
The place spans over a vast area — filled with lush greenery all around, a scenic Lake in the middle and a peaceful atmosphere — a perfect antidote for today's fast paced world.
The cool breeze, the scenery in front, the chirping of birds and squirrels playing around — all just made me forget whatever was going on in my mind and brought me to enjoy the present.
I visited on a day when a heavy downpour hit, so I only managed to cover half of the area. But still that was more than enough to take back with me.
I've read people say that the place has lost its charm but — as a first-time visitor, this place truly amazed me.
Workers are always busy keeping the area clean. The children's park, walk ways, and surrounding areas are well maintained — although the lake edges are covered with mosses underneath, and some people do use the water for personal cleaning.
The benches or resting stations are however not up to the mark. Most of the wooden benches are broken, while some resting areas are not properly maintained.
But, as no place is without its flaws, I think we should not let that stop us from seeing the brighter side. And this Lake has far more beauty to offer than anything else.
You may find couples hanging out, or many people with their fishing rod standing beside the lake. You may even find many groups laughing and giggling together or a few solo travellers lost in the serenity of nature. But what remains common is that everyone is happy and fully immersed in the moment.
The beauty of the place lies not just in its surroundings, but in the way it brings tranquility to all...
