We planned for Golden Joy but ended up here as you know popular places are mostly crowed and its hard to get a table on weekends and holidays. To my surprise Golden Phoenix was quite good option if you're not just looking for beautiful ambiance.

The ambiance is very ordinary but ample space, no issues getting a table here. Service was average, food prices are same as per china town standard. Lots of items to choose from menu.

We started with a bottle of 100pipers and choose below items with it. Drinks felt way too expensive to me, 375ml pipers costs Rs.1800.

We surely did a mistake by ordering crispy fried fish, although the fish was fresh but it was tasteless and quantity was also very low for the price. On the other hand Chicken Lollipop was tossed such nicely with onions capcicums & sauces, every piece of it tasted delicious.

Fried rice was pretty regular, quantity was average. Chicken main courses quantity was ample with 15 pieces of chicken in every full portion. Chilli Garlic Chicken felt ordinary to me but Hot Garlic tasted just excellent. It tasted bit on the sweeter side and went really well with the rice.

Conclusion This place doesn't seem very good at first glace and its not very popular either. But I liked their food and quantity.

Golden Phoenix had been on my wishlist for a long time, so when I was near the EM bypass, I decided to pay it a visit. We ordered Cantonese Style Mixed Noodles, Chilli Garlic Chicken, and Egg Fried Rice.

Cantonese Style Mixed Noodles (2/5) We typically adore Cantonese-style gravy noodles, but this dish was a complete letdown. Both the quality and quantity were disappointing. For a full plate, the portion was surprisingly small. The taste was incredibly bland, lacking basic seasoning like salt, and it felt like it missed that essential MSG kick you'd expect.

Chilli Garlic Chicken (3.5/5) This chicken dish was pretty decent in taste, though it didn't stand out as anything particularly special. The flavor seemed to come primarily from the sauce mix it was prepared in.

Egg Fried Rice (1/5) We initially had no plans to order this, but due to the insufficient quantity of the noodles, we felt compelled to add it. The fried rice tasted very average. I packed up the small amount that was leftover, but when I reheated it the next day, it had a smelly and weird taste, as if it had been stored in the fridge for too long after being cooked.

Overall, my experience at Golden Phoenix didn't align with the expectations one might have from a China Town establishment. It seems this place might be frequented more by those focused on drinks rather than the quality and taste of the food. If you're looking for that authentic Chinese flavor kick, I'd recommend visiting other renowned eateries in China...
