Located at the food court of lake mall, haka is one of the finest restaurants of the speciality group where you can get one of the best chinese buffet at a pretty decent price point.
During this pervasive a lot of people are agitated to have outside food, even to go outside without any dire work. Contrarily Haka, which is acclaimed to serve keenly priced buffet options came up two new buffet options which will be served on the table to avoid the mass gathering at the buffet counter. They've introduced two new buffet option, one is the bento box which you can get at just 169/- for the veg one, 199/- for the non veg option and 249/- for the prawn option. You'd get one starter, one main course, one side dish and a dessert. All the are limited. Their second option is named as The Best Of Haka, in which you'll get 3 starters, 3main course, 3 side dishes and two desserts. Everything mentioned above are unlimited. We choose the Best of Haka option in which we've got,
Siu Mai (Chicken) : Gracefully presented in a bamboo steamer basket. Siu Mai is basically a Chinese snack which is globally eminent just after sushi. Chicken fillings wrapped in wonton sheets then steamed in a bamboo steamer. I gulped down all the siu mai with relish swiftly. Loved the flavor and the texture. Definitely Recommended.
Crispy Chili Potatoes : A slight taste of the chili to give the potatoes a delectable texture. I'd recommend you to have this hot and don't eat much cause there are many other dishes you should keep space for.
Mango Mustard Fish : It had a beautiful mustard flavor balancing the taste of raw mango's tanginess. Loved how it managed to keep all the taste intact. If you're a vegetarian, you can try mixed veg chili plum instead.
Drums of heaven : Heavenly in one word. The chicken was soft and it had tender. Not much spicy so good for the kids as well. Cottage cheese hunan available for the vegetarian people.
Chicken Haka Soup : Pretty decent. The soup was nor too thick, neither too runny. So it was kinda well balanced. I found pretty good amount of chicken pieces as well. There's sweet corn soup available for the vegetarian people.
Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables : I'd say this is for the people who's a bit conscious about their health. Yellow/green zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, baby corn, bok choy etc etc. Tbh this isn't really my type but the taste was pretty good.
Haka Chili prawn : I'd say this is the best side dish in this whole combo. The taste was absolutely brilliant. Really went well with both the vegetable fried rice and veg hakka noodles. Vegetarian people can choose hakka chili cottage cheese option instead of this one.
Chicken Hot Garlic Manchurian : The taste was pretty decent. I'd not say it was too good but it really went well with the noodles. I'd recommend you to try this with the hakka noodles for the best taste. For the vegetarian people, they can choose Veg Manchurian instead.
Veg Hakka Noodles : Loved the taste. I hate the fact when I see my noodles too oily as it really kills the appetite but this one was way too perfect. You can have egg hakka noodles as well but I went with the veg one.
Vegetable Fried Rice : This one is common for both the veg and non veg people, so had to go for this but trust me I did not regret for a min. The whole rice was cooked in butter. The buttery smell and the hakka chili prawn, just match made in heaven.
Coming to the desserts,
Darsaan with Vanilla : Darsaan is basically fried noodles dipped in suger syrup and served with vanilla but here they sprinkle sesame seed on it. This is their most popular dessert.
Chocolate brownies : Brilliant in one word. The brownies were soft, had moisture. Chocolate sauce was drizzled all over it to make it more tempting. It depends upon your luck as this second dessert option keeps changing everyday. So you will be surprised to see what you get.
Overall my experience at hakka was extremely delightful. They're offering the unlimited buffet at just ₹495 + tax which I think is one of the best deals available in the...

Read moreI visited the Haka Lake Mall outlet yesterday to avail their weekend buffet after getting a lot of positive reviews about the place from the social media. The buffet was priced at 575+GST on Friday. The price of the buffet came to be around ₹605 including the taxes. For starters, they served chicken soup to our table which was pretty average and was somewhat bland. And from the buffet spread we took chicken dim sum, chilly potato, spicy chicken wings. They also had kimchi, other varieties of salad and crackers. The dim sums were a bit hard and did not feel fresh, while the wings were stale. The only thing I enjoyed in the starters were the chilly potatoes. However, there was a problem with the refilling of the item and had to wait for long to get them. Kimchi and the salad were moderate. I liked the main course items which included basil rice, chicken rice, veg noodles along with prawn, general tso's fish and chicken. The prawn tasted bland, although the fish was quite good. The chicken was average and could be improved in terms of its taste. For the desserts, there was watermelon, strawberry pastry, darsan and three varieties of ice cream (vanilla, mango and chocolate) along with chocolate chips and chocolate sauce. The desserts were quite decent, although there were not enough options to choose from. Overall, my experience of the buffet was average with a 3/5 star rating. I have been to Haka before as well and I admit that my past experiences were better. This time, the food was tasteless, and did not feel fresh. Also the buffet spread was limited and in no way could justify its ₹600+ price. The problems with refilling of the items made things worse. I would request the management to kindly look into these matters so that the buffet experience can be improved. P. S. : I am not here to defame the restaurant. This is entirely my opinion, and I suggest people who are willing to go and try out the buffet themselves and be...
