Mio Amore — Restaurant in Kolkata

Our tryst with the delicacies of Mio Amore started since college days. I am talking about a couple of decades back when Chicken Internet would cost only ten rupees and Chicken Patties would come at five rupees only. My dad would give me thirty rupees daily as pocket money. We mostly used to visit greasy spoon mom-and-pop stops to treat our taste buds. Thirty rupees was too few to set foot in upscale restaurants even then. Fortunately, we discovered this takeaway near our college, happy to serve our mini food cravings! With time it has only become better. I recently popped by one of its outlets at CIT Road, Entally and devoured a red velvet pastry and a chicken claw. The velvet pastry was easy on the tummy but intense on the taste buds! It was soft and creamy yet very crisp. The chicken claw was replete with succulent chicken. It was drizzled with mayonnaise. The salty, juicy chicken was immensely seductive to the taste buds. I had them with a cup of hot Darjeeling tea and it was a deadly combination. When the flavours of chopped garlic, mayonnaise and tasteful chicken were bursting in mouth, it gave a heavenly feeling. Healthwise this may not sound good. But sometimes it is good to lose...

Situated in CIT Road near Entally, the store is not a big one, but offers different types of cakes, pasteries, cool drinks etc. The shop is easily accessible since it is situated in CIT Road and no separate car parking is provided by them, but you can easily park cars in the road side. The cake I ordered was a butterscotch birthday cake with a frozen Elsa photo print. The cake was good, though not superb. The packing was excellent and the staff are very co-operative. The first thing you note in the shop is that they have enough number of staffs, so the moment you enter, someone will attend you. Eventhough it was my first visit, there was always a good number of customers which shows their popularity and of course the quality of products. However, please note that if you are planning to order a birthday cake (with shapes of your choice like Dora, Mickey, Donald duck etc.) you should make the order at least 48 hours before your requirement.
