An awesome experience. The ambience was just great. The whole restaurant is themed after Saptapadi, the movie of great Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen, you can find some great pics of them from different movies used for decorating the whole restaurant. Even the songs of old movies are being played the whole time which adds more to the theme. Now coming to the food they serve. They are serving some delicious Bengali and Bangladeshi dishes. We ordered fish fries, rice, moong dal fry, beguni, bhetki paturi, ilish daaber bhapa, pulao, Saptapadir Abhinaba Murgi, chutney and misti doi. Starting with the fish fry, filled with original Kolkata Bhetki and the outer coating was super crispy. The rice served was of good quality. Dal was ok. Begunis were perfectly cooked. The best part was the paturi. The spiciness of the sorshe bata just perfectly complimented the bhetki fillet inside the banana leaf. The hilsha was also good, this was steamed using coconut water. The pulao was good but was too sweet. Chicken was cooked well but was not complimenting the pulao. Chutney was of raw mango and was sweet and sour. The quantity of rice and pulao can be shared by two easily. Staff behaviour and manager's attitude were great. Located opposite to Sabeda Bagan Club, Chowrasta..Behala, this restaurant serves one of the best Bengali food in the area. The dishes that we ordered were mishti pulao, Daab Chingri, anarosh (pineapple) pora shorbot and chitol muitha.. The taste is marvelous. If you want a budget friendly dish, you can go in for their thalis which are equally good but that's enough for one person but if you are not exactly a small eater, you can try out their individual dishes along with the thalis to make it more wholesome. The staff here is pretty quick and friendly..the ambience offers you with the best of Mahanayak Uttam Kumar's movie songs and the decor of this restaurant is all about Mahanayak's best movies. This will definitely give the Bengali diners a special feeling of nostalgia with good quality food. To mention, their kitchen is pretty clean and so is the entire restaurant. To wrap it up, the restaurant offers the best ambiences along with great Bengali dishes with mishti paan in the end to offer a smile on the faces of happy diners. Journey begins for our very own Saptapadi Behala outlet. Location is 26/1, Biren Roy Road East, near Behala Chowrastta, Kolkata - 700008. Our Bhojbaji team was present on the day of opening, 7th Feb 2022 Monday. We got opening 50% discount on bengali buffet. Orginal buffet price is 1199/- but Saptapadi is giving 50% discount for 50 heads for first 7 days. Offer will continue upto 13th Feb 2022. Booking is mandatory for this offer.
