Steaming Mug — Restaurant in Kolkata

First of all the establishment doesn't fit for the title cafe, it's a kind of street food joint enclosed in a brick and mortar cubicle. As a foodie I usually explore small food joints on my way. So we went there yesterday. There was only one person who was doing everything, perhaps I think cooking also. As it is designated as a cafe we expected a decent range of hot beverages for winter but there's a big NO. We asked the person (waiter/ cook/ cleaning guy) if we could have masala tea. He replied rudely that as it is a 'café' they serve a few kinds of 'coffee' only and we have to choose from that (limited) 'menu'. First of all having no decency he doesn't know how to approach customers. Secondly he has no idea about the preparation of dishes. We ordered two starters with coffee ie fish and chips and crispy chicken. Fish and chips was just okay. And the fried chicken ( or whatever it was) was exactly opposite thing from the dish. Boiled pieces of chicken were tossed in soggy gravy with onions and green chilli. And IT'S NOT FRIED HELLO CHICKEN!!! We told him that it's not the dish that was supposed to be. He argued continuously and yelled that that's the crispy chicken and we know nothing about cuisines therefore we shouldn't not lecture him about culinary skills. I'm giving the picture of the so called 'Crispy Chicken' you guys decide this what the thing it was. I suggest everyone if you go there don't expect the food you want. The guy (waiter/cook/cleaning guy) makes something whatever he likes and you'll have to swallow the weird dish whether you like it or not. In short if you want a kick in your boring life and you have enough money to spend on horrible foods then go for it, otherwise AVOID THE...

Visited with friends but bit disappointed. Well, it is a nicely decorated small cafe and I must admit that we liked the ambiance when we entered the Cafe. But you know, besides the ambiance it is important to maintain a proper service. I am sorry but you guys need to do some work regarding the service. Have some professionalism guys and please be amicable with your customers. The behavior of the staff was horrible, it seemed he was doing a favor to us. Lastly the taste, we ordered red sauce pasta,(which was good), dry chili chicken, cold coffee (good as well), and Mocktail(disappointed). The Virgin mojito was not a virgin mojito at all. Well, I may not be a good critic regarding mocktails but the taste didn't feel like mojito. Hope you guys sort out all the issues and do well in the future. Best of luck to you guys.

The place is a small one. So seating is rather limited. Each table is good enough for a couple, but difficult to sit around when you come in a group of three or more. They refused to allow us to join other tables, even though we were the sole customers there. (We were in a group of more than 2. Hence we asked to join the tables together so that we could all sit together and chat while eating.)

The staff behavior needs to change asap if they want to run a successful business. The waiter was quite rude right from the beginning when we ordered food. We had hardly finished our food, when we were asked to quickly vacate our table and pay the bill, because there was another customer waiting outside.
