The veg thukpa was decent—it was loaded with veggies and mushrooms, which I don’t see often in Leh. But there was a major drawback to this place that makes me feel really sad actually. On the outside, Tenzin Dickey is labelled as a vegetarian place. It even has green lights and stuff, ostensibly to mark its vegetarianess. But to my shock, when I entered, they served me a menu with mutton dishes first. When asked why they are serving mutton dishes and not even giving the vegetarian menu, they said that the demand is low. But that is not true—I went to this place 3 times, and saw tourists seeing the “vegetarian only” sign and enter, only to receive the mutton menu. If you are promoting it yourselves instead of highlighting the uniqueness of your vegetarian food in Leh, it just disappoints and drives people away further.
