Coming from Delhi to explore local cuisine of Bhopal. Was searching for place to eat good traditional muglai non-veg. Checked with local friends and internet, both suggested Filfora as a place to must visit.
Went with family, basic sitting arrangement. Don't expect anything lavish or event beyond normal, that was fine with me as we came for food here. Place should be clean and free of clutter, that basic need was in place.
Menu was having Chinese and few other options, which actually puts me off as a place which expertises on muglai non veg, should avoid mixing of cusinies.
Now coming to Main topic of food, ordered the following Chicken clear soup Galoti kabab Chicken biryani (as mutton was over) Chicken rezala Mutton khada masala Butter milk (comes from another restaurant) Lemon soda (comes from another restaurant) Sahi tukda Garlic naan (khamiri roti is not made here)
Chicken clear soup was good, but could have been much better if salt could have been less. Galoti kabab was biggest disappointment, was hard and not at all melt in the mouth that I was expecting. Neither did it came with its own roti. Though the mutton taste was good in it. Biryani was very nice, missed the mutton biryani though. Both chicken & mutton dishes were good, personally liked rezala more but few other liked mutton one. Rest others are as usual, lemon soda had much more ice content than required. Sahi tukda is pre-made dish, and tastes little different than we get at other place.
The portion size are decent or rather pretty good. Tolerable spice level for kids.
For 6 ppl, the food was just right. Had some over eating too.
Service was good, not much waiting.
Visit the place for good food...
Read moreWent to this restaurant twice to celebrate birthday with family but made a mistake. Not attended by the staff after entering and waiting to be offered a table. The waiters came to ask the order after calling many times. The plates were brought after asking. Which were dirty. Water was served after asking twice. The waiter hold the glass by putting two fingers inside it. They have no manners how to serve the cutlery. gave the order to three people but they could not hear it properly and brought wrong soup and starters. Meanwhile other customers were also complaining of bad service and one family and one couple got irritated and left the place. By seeing all this i ordered for whole food at once but the Nans and dishes didn't came together and we had to wait for long. The preparation, taste, looks of the food was not that good. We had goats hairs in Veg Biryaani. I complained the manager a boy about all this and he said "dikhva lenge" ! The wash basin and toilets were dirty. Finally ashamed of throwing my birthday party at such a poorly managed restaurant i apologised my relatives and left. The hygiene is poor. I don't recommend going...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Bhopal from May 11 - 14, I visited Filfora restaurant 'again' & ordered some shami kebabs & bhuna gosht for lunch. The mutton was juicy, succulent & flavourful but the real treat were the Shami Kebabs. The best I've ever had. The ingredients are so well balanced & the mutton is minced in such a way that it doesn't loose its fibrous texture. It was so good that I ensured to include the kebabs in every meal during my stay (though the restaurant doesn't offer home (hotel) delivery) I also tried later the boti kebab (mutton tikka), chicken biryani (they don't serve mutton biryani on regular basis) & khada masala gosht. All these were very good & cooked to perfection. The prices are very competitive. Rs 120 for 5 small size shami kebabs (good for single person) & Rs 210 for main course mutton dishes (sufficient for 2).
Btw, so far, they don't have a plate system hence the quantity is more for a single person.
Keep doing the good job Filfora. Salute for your Shami Kebab recipe. Filfora is owned by a very courteous & well spoken family. Filfora...
