Neelkanth Thali — Restaurant in Madhya Pradesh

We wanted to have a delicious North Indian thali and went to Neelkanth Thali and must express that it was a smart, lucky and tasteful decision. It was the occasion of Chhoti Deepawali and when we reached the outlet, it was 9:30 p.m. Ours was the last order as they were closing earlier than usual due to the auspicious day.

We ordered for two special thalis and just waited for ten minutes or less. The thalis were in front of my wife and me and the appearance and first morsel assured that it is going to be a great feast. There were around eight bowls carrying lentils, kadhi, beans and various vegetables, boondi raita, papad ,salad and gulab jamun as dessert. The servers were bringing hot rotis with ghee spread adequately and paranthas after every few moments. They also brought servings of lentil and vegetables to be replenished in the bowls.

When we said that no rotis and paranthas are required, they brought rice. We ate to the fullest and enjoyed our meal thoroughly. The staff members were courteous and prompt. The ambience was nice, clean, well-lit and spacious. We took a token after paying in cash. There were other online modes of payment as well.

Owner is worst, rude, money minded, fraud and making fool of customers. He takes orders when he has no staff to work. In the name of premium thali bhojan thali he is just giving common food to everyone. They mix all the remaining vegetables full of oil and serve to anyone. He takes money before hand so that he can serve such disgusting food. ..you have to keep waiting for chapati, rice , kadhi(which is just a plain white water mixed with sugar). His cleaning staff is also cooking, washing utensils and serving. No one wearing mask. If you complain then owner is least bothered because he takes money before. In the name of paneer ki sabji they have served a mix veg with 2 piece of paneer. They have mentioned aalo paratha in premium thali but you keep waiting for it and they will tell you to take chapati instead of aalo paratha. The owner is least bothered and confidently says to customers who were complaining that he is doing the best and his business will flourish like magic. I wish I would have checked others reviews before spending my time and money in this neelkanth thali. The worst food, worst service...

The place is spacious, ambience is good and food is decent but they completely messed up in the service. We ordered a basic thali. Midway into our meal the waiter came and said that mistakenly he has served us premium thalis so we'll have to either pay for the premium or return the thali. This was a weird situation. We obviously decided to go ahead with the premium thali since we couldn't ruin our lunch. Then all other things like chapatis, top-up sabzis and chhaas were served so late that we lost appetite by then. The lady at the counter didn't have an iota of regret for the horrible service and defended it saying that this happens everywhere during rush hours. After all the bad service she had the temerity to charge us for the premium thalis which was an error on their part. May be one should go there at 5 pm for lunch to enjoy good...
