Third class thali. I ordered it through swiggy yesterday, paying 324/- that includes tax n delivery charges. It says special thali including 4 veggies- i can't believe they sent brinjal sabji which was green in colour n looks like bottle gourd. The other veggie was completely dilute/watery n had one big piece of potato. I was shocked to see hotel serving this quality and type of veggie in so expensive thali. The third veggie- i couldn't gauge (as it was having just spicy gravy) till the time I found a single chola/Kabuli chana in the gravy. 2 pieces baati were mentioned that was hard as small stones. Salad looks so stale that you feel like you should throw it immediately. Let's come to dessert- initially i thought it was malpua n rabdi, but the rabdi was completely white. Later i figured out, it was a small folded/soggy shahi tukda piece with a spoon of malai/cream. The other dessert was fruit custard having lumps and unmixed pieces of papaya n pomegranate. They mentioned Choorma which was salty in taste- don't know if they expect us to mix ghee and sugar from our side. I had huge expectations when you are charging this much for a thali but Overall a big disappointment Panchvati Gaurav. I would never ever...
Read moreIt's a one price- fixed thali format restaurant where there is no menu and you don't have to order anything. You just go and sit at a vacant table where nice royal traditional metal plates with bowls are already decorated. The moment you occupy the table they start serving the dishes in each bowl. There are multiple veg dishes and sweets. And you can get as many servings as you want without any extra cost. Different waiters carry different dishes and keep coming to you turn by turn. I liked a few dishes, and actually no one can like everything from the diverse preparations. And this is where the issue is. The waiter with potato sabzi comes to you but you don't want it. Instead you need curd curry. But the guy with curd curry is not around and the other waiters don't bother to send him to you. By the time he reaches you, you've already finished your food. This happened with me for a couple of dishes I was calling for. And this is the problem of this format, not the place. The taste of most things I preferred to eat was good, except daal baati which tasted ordinary. The ambience was...
Read moreI scrolled through the trip advisor pages to check what all I can do in Gwalior city as I was alone there, hence on one of the Sunday afternoon I decide to check out the place for which I read a lot on trip advisor, being fascinated with Rajasthani food. I planned my visit on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant has a single daily menu, vegetarian Indian. As, I sat there, in a few minutes, the waiters started to serve an amazing tray with different dishes on my plates, from starters to dessert. The menu is 250 rupees. However, if do the comparison with the similar kind of restaurants which are serving similar kind of food in metropolitans, the dishes and the quantity served was not up to the mark. Considering the place and the city it seems not the right value for the money paid. Also, with the help of map it is difficult to locate the restaurant, so if plan to visit best is to call and ask for landmark or route, by the way, the restaurant is on the second floor of a small,...
