If you find yourself craving for a sumptuous and economical vegetarian meal, Parvathi Bhavan Veg Hotel is the place you must visit. This modest establishment has been winning hearts with its impeccable service and an array of scrumpticous dishes that leave you yearning for more.
One of the standout offerings of Parvathi Bhavan Veg Hotel is their Mini Tiffen. Priced at an incredibly affordable rate of just Rs 80, the Mini Tiffen is a feast in itself. It comes with a little bit of everything to cater to various taste preferences. The plate includes idli, poori, pongal, vada, and dosa, which gives patrons a taste of the characteristic South Indian breakfast. Each item on the tiffen is cooked to perfection. The idlis are soft and fluffy, melting in your mouth. The pooris are golden and crispy, without being overly greasy. The pongal is savory and comforting, just like homemade. The vadas are crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, and the dosas are as authentic as they come, served hot and with the perfect amount of crunch.
Not to forget, the meal is complemented with a hot cup of coffee or tea, which will surely kick-start your day with a burst of energy. The beverages are just right, not too sweet and not too strong, but definitely adding a finishing touch to a wonderful meal.
The service at Parvathi Bhavan Veg Hotel is noteworthy. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick to serve, ensuring that you have a delightful dining experience without any hiccups. Despite the hustle and bustle, considering the popularity of the place, they manage to maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Another convenience is the roadside parking available near the hotel, which is a blessing for those driving their own vehicles. This relieves one of the hassles of finding a spot to safely park their car while they enjoy their meal.
In conclusion, Parvathi Bhavan Veg Hotel is a gem for those who are looking for authentic, tasty, and affordable vegetarian meals in a comfortable setting. While it may not boast opulent decor or an upscale location, it more than makes up for this with its delicious food and amiable service. A visit here is sure to leave you with a happy stomach and a smile on your face. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy traditional South Indian cuisine without burning a hole in...
Read moreMy experience at Gowri Parvathi Bhavan Veg and Coffee in Managiri, Madurai, left me with mixed feelings. While there were aspects that impressed me, the overall attitude of the management and some shortcomings detracted from the overall dining experience.
The management's attitude is quite evident from the board that translates to "eat fast and get lost." This reflects an arrogant approach focused solely on efficiency, disregarding the importance of a positive customer experience. This attitude permeates throughout the establishment. During my first visit with my wife, the AC dining hall was closed, and we were seated downstairs, where Paruppu Podi was not served. Despite our request to provide it at an extra charge, the staff declined. On another occasion, when dining in the AC hall, I had to request permission from the owner to receive Paruppu Podi with my parcel meal. These instances highlight a lack of flexibility and customer-centricity in their approach.
On a positive note, the waiters at Gowri Parvathi Bhavan Veg and Coffee are polite and helpful. They contribute positively to the dining experience. However, the same cannot be said for the managers, who seem to lack the ability to add value or improve customer satisfaction.
The ambiance of the restaurant is impressive, particularly in the well-designed AC hall, which offers a relaxing atmosphere. However, it is disheartening to note the waterlogging issue near the restaurant that has persisted for an extended period, leading to a foul stench in the vicinity. Rectifying this issue would greatly enhance the overall experience, but it appears that the management is shortsighted and primarily focused on maximizing profits.
Moving on to the food, I must admit that the taste is indeed excellent. The comprehensive menu, particularly the complete meals, stands out as one of the best in Madurai. However, it is crucial to consider the implications of supporting a business run by an arrogant set of individuals. By patronizing Gowri Parvathi Bhavan Veg and Coffee, we inadvertently encourage an establishment that prioritizes efficiency over customer satisfaction and exhibits a lack of...
Read moreRude and Disrespectful Staff – I Deserve an Apology! 03.01 pm (12/02/2025)
I had an extremely frustrating experience at Gowri Parvathi Bhavan, and I demand an apology from the billing counter staff. When I simply asked what the special variety rice of the day was, the staff member ignored me at first. When I repeated my question, he rudely pointed at a board written in Tamil and continued to ignore me.
When I told him I couldn’t read Tamil because I was brought up abroad, instead of helping me, he MOCKINGLY asked, “Don’t you know how to read?” Is this how you treat customers? Is it wrong to ask a question about your menu? Not everyone who visits your restaurant reads Tamil—why is it such a problem for your staff to answer a simple question? Instead of basic courtesy, I was treated like I was illiterate and insulted.
If you expect all customers to read Tamil, then why don’t you put up an English menu? And even if someone can’t read, isn’t it your job to help them? The way I was ignored and mocked is unacceptable. On top of that, the other staff just took my bill and walked off without any acknowledgment.
This is not just bad service—it’s outright disrespect. I expect a proper apology from the billing counter staff for their rude behavior. If management cares about their customers at all, they should take action to ensure this never...
