SideWalk Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Madurai

This is one of the most inhuman place I have ever visited in Madurai. Madurai, being a place know for its culture and hospitality it is an irony this place(Side walk Cafe) exist in Madurai. Not once, but twice when I had a quick catch up with my friends and colleagues, I was asked to leave the place just after we completed out order (after having our juice/ soup)

Apparently the management will only allow you to dine without talking. I'm not sure who frames such interesting rules like this. Ideally this place should not be open to public at all, if they wanted to operate with such condition.

I would discourage anyone to visit this place, considering the attitude the staff and the way they treat their customers.

I made the mistake visiting this place more than twice just because the place is near my home.

There is nothing comment worthy to share about the food hence refraining to comment regarding the same. This place is a disgrace , ideally the owners need to sell this or lease it to someone who really know the ethos of Cafes.

Reply to you comment sir - The Café was not crowded We did not order just a juice and stick in your premises. Please learn the basic etiquettes of customer service before blaming your customers. We are not freeloader coming to your business establishment.

Worst experience. To start of with their ambience, uncomfortable seatings they have doesn't give you a relaxed feel. In the peak summer, the temperature they maintain within the cafe is pathetic. Coming to food, even a small bakery will serve nice delicious cakes and coffee. We ordered one chocolate vennila cake and one chocolate truffle cake from fresh cream pastries, one coffee and a fresh fruit salad. I've never tasted such a bad chocolate vanilla cake. It was so dry and hard. My friend had the coffee and called it a paayasam(south Indian sweet). The punch/bitterness we expect in the coffee was missing completely. It was loaded with sugar. The fruit salad quantity was completely unacceptable for that price. Three small pieces of banana, pineapple, papaya, black seeded grapes and majority was watermelon. They serve this in a soup bowl. We went there so that we could munch something yummy and relax but it was absolute...

This is a place I frequent whenever I want to dine peacefully away from the hustle and bustle. Usually this place is not crowded. Service is slow. But food is excellent. Prices are also just moderate. The environment is also nice and clean. Only problem is you have to walk all the way to the hotel's main lobby if you want to use the bathroom. Car parking is not at all a problem. I wish these guys spend some money on advertising and bring in more crowd and make more money. They fully deserve to be more popular...
