We ordered a mutton biryani and a chicken biryani, and it took around 30 minutes for our food to arrive—likely due to the Diwali rush with takeout orders. When the biryanis finally came, the portions were disappointing. The mutton biryani had only two small pieces, mostly bone, while the chicken biryani had a slightly better portion but still felt underwhelming. It was more like “biryani rice” with meat as decoration, similar to how clove or fried onions are used as garnish.
Since we barely got any meat flavor from the biryanis, we ordered chicken lollipops, which came with six large pieces. Initially, it looked promising, but the masala was overwhelming, and there was hardly any meat on the bone. The taste was inconsistent, with most pieces seeming undercooked. Out of the six, only one piece had a decent, well-cooked flavor.
When we requested drinks, we were informed they didn’t serve any (which at least saved us some money). They also didn’t offer hot water, and when we asked for it, there was a lengthy wait as they had to start boiling it. Eventually, they brought one glass, which we split and mixed with regular water to cool it down.
The total bill came to around 900 rupees for one mutton biryani (mostly rice), one chicken biryani, and the lollipop chicken masala—highly overpriced given the quality and portions. Back home, this would’ve been served as unlimited rice for free.
Overall, I was thoroughly disappointed with both the food and service. The staff seemed to pass our hot water request from one to another, and no one took ownership. Given the poor experience, I’d suggest not being swayed by their “since 1957” label. This place doesn’t live up to any reputation of serving the best biryani in Madurai. I won’t be dining here again, nor would I recommend...
Read moreLots of miscommunication when they take the order, if they are not sure then they should recheck with us before they communicate this to the serving staffs. I ordered natu kozhi soup and they bought chukka and the person who took my order says I have ordered chukka, and when I said that I'm sure what I ordered and then he said they will bring my soup. And then atlast I asked for brownie and they told it'll come with icecream and I asked for vannilla flavor and they told it's not available and so they asked me to try someother flavor. As I'm not okay with that so I asked I don't want to order it and then they told okay we will bring brownie only. And then they bought 2 small pieces. When I took a bite it was super cold so I called them and asked them to serve my brownie bit hot by keeping him owen. And then she replied saying that the owen is broken and can't heat the brownie. Thought I was not satisfied with the answer I ate it and then when I was setting the bill, I said to the other guy who took my orders regarding my disappointment on brownie issue. And he says the owen was good and also he added if you asked me then I would have asked them to serve the brownie hot . I am really surprised my the contradict answer between these two persons and I was totally disappointed. When I tried to convey that the other lady said that the owen was broken, he manages saying everyone will have brownie in cold state. I mean who will have the brownie when It's super cold and also they should serve what the customer asks and instead they should not be supporting their colleagues mistakes and all. I am super super disappointed with their behaviour and different of answer from them.and they charged me 250 rupees for couple of small cold brownie which was...

I had a worst dinner and area manager Mukesh of the Kalavasal branch who is irresponsible he delivered mutton and plain briyani with no heat and only one mutton piece in it..He is arguing after seeing in real time and not taking feedback/complaints properly. And the wrong bill provided as well while leaving as I ordered kadai chicken masala and 2 plain briyani instead of 1 plain briyani. Attaching the bill as well for your reference...As a thalapakkatti owner, please admit the mistakes owned by restaurant, instead of dont argue this shouldn't have happened. It happened now what's the action you took after responding me...Please note that , with food you are satisfying people heart with love not just their stomach...You should do that as a service for customer in a first place as a human being, don't think like a normal businessman..this sort of money you earned from me yesterday will not allow you to grow because I am not fullfilled after coming out of your restaurant by paying bills and getting scolded by your area manager..
Please pay attention to the customers else you will be thrown out of the market soon..Kindly take this as my feedback and don't come up with further arguments after providing required...
