Hotel Chaitanya — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Good food, quick service, value for money but parking is a hassle.

Chaitanya is famous with people from Mumbai and it's quite popular in Malvan too. It is located near the beginning of the busy main market street in Malvan town. So, finding parking here, especially in the evenings, is a problem. But, you should be able to find a nook or cranny somewhere to fit your vehicle :-).

This restaurant has more modern ambience than most of the others in Malvan. Which means, it has separate AC and family sections. The seating can get a little tight for large groups, but it's usually fine.

The seafood is the highlight here and they don't let you down. It is always fresh, hot and delicious. Our favorite items here are Kalva / Oysters Fry, Prawns Rawa Fry, Surmai Rawa Fry, Makul / Squid Fry, Kolambi Bhaat, Crab Curry and Bangda Curry. There are good options for vegetarian folks as well as compared to other restaurants around.

Their service is homely, quick and to the point. Don't forget to ask them for specials, like oysters or mussels.

Overall, good value for money even after being the costliest...

WORST EXPERIENCE!! It was quite late that night and me with my family were in search of good restaurant for nice Malvani food. Suggested by someone so we reached this hotel, we were asked to wait as the restaurant was full of customers. Soon we got the table and ordered fish thali. Service was prompt and they first served my mom dad…my dad saw the fish was uncooked and the blood stains on it. As soon as he complained he was asked to wait for some time until another fish was served. It was getting too late so my dad asked again, then the guy who was serving got annoyed and instead of being sorry he complained saying that u wanted the order early so you got the fish uncooked!!! This audacity that guy had!!! MY husband and brothers scolded him for that statement, so again he rudely said us that there is no food left (indirectly asking us to leave) and this is how we left that restaurant 😡Will never step or recommend anyone to visit this restaurant....

Tasty Food: The food at Hotel Chaitanya is definitely flavorful and enjoyable. Solkadhi: The complimentary Solkadhi offered twice is a nice touch and adds a refreshing element to the meal. Unlimited Rice & Curry: The unlimited rice and curry option is a great value for money.

Negatives: Expensive: The overall pricing might be considered a bit high for some. Disappointing Chicken: The chicken pieces were a letdown, with a significant amount of bones, necks, and potta (less desirable parts).

Overall: Hotel Chaitanya offers decent food with some attractive features like complimentary Solkadhi and unlimited rice. However, the high price and the quality of the chicken could be areas for improvement. Recommendation: I'd recommend trying Hotel Chaitanya if you're looking for tasty food and appreciate the unlimited rice and curry option. However, be mindful of the pricing and keep in mind that the chicken might not be the highlight...
