This place is best known for their boat dining experience on the banks of Pune's Manas Lake. It probably gained popularity coz of the hookah, but that is no longer available. So keep in mind if you're planning to check out this much hyped restaurant.
They have made a prototype of an actual boat. And, there's a below deck seating, as well as above the deck. Also, a cabin seating area as well. They also have rooftop seating as well as the downstairs inside seating in a structure beside the boat. Finally, an open area seating at the back, complete with the dance floor and a DJ.
I visited here last Saturday. The place wasn't so crowded even though it was the weekend. And once seated and after ordering, I understood why.
Firstly, we ordered tomato soup as I was starting to feel the cold because it was getting chilly and it is a lakeside place. However, it was just about fine. And, the accompanying breadcrumbs weren't crunchy and fine brown.
For starters, we first went with Teriyaki Paneer, as we were curious about this dish, as I've usually ordered the chicken variant only. This was a good dish, as you can't go wrong with that sauce! Then, I ordered Lasooni Prawns Tikka as it was recommended under Special Seafood starters. However, this was a big disappointment. There wasn't enough masala. The taste of garlic wasn't on point. And it didn't feel like I'm eating a tandoor starter.
Special mention goes to Cocktails as I'd like to warn you against ordering them. Better go for beer or hard drinks instead. I had a Mojito, which wasn't much good. And LIIT was pathetic. It felt like some amateur had prepared the drink. Beware: You've been warned!
The service was not at all up to the mark either. The waiter wasn't interested in taking orders. The manager kept reminding her to come to our table after we tried flagging everyone helplessly. The server was comparatively prompt, but eventually, he couldn't help salvaging the dishes by getting them sooner to our table.
Our final dish, Mexican sizzler, was too weak to salvage the dining experience. It literally had the triangle shaped namkeen snack that tasted like mathari instead of Nachos, which was pathetic. The quantity of fries was less. Just the vegetables seemed fine. We couldn't even finish it.
The dining experience at this place was very dissatisfied. The only good thing about the place was the boat dining. But, if the food is not great, it is just another place to take photos and enjoy the lake. I'd suggest having a byte before getting here if you still wanna experience the ambience. Definitely don't come here hungry or starved. Maybe a few safe dishes and beer while grooving to the beats can salvage your visit. The playlist was one thing...

Generally one of the three factors get compromised, but Sarovarr stands tall as an exception.
Ambiance: I counted and there are 10 separate seating areas...1 near bartender counter, 1 outside it, 2 in the 2-story real old boat with warm lighting, 2 near dance floor for the dating couples, 1 cozy private huts for the couples who are now beyond dating ❤️, 1 near beach sand-like arena, 2 most romantic seatings made in the beach sand. You will be at wit's end to decide which place to take up 😆
Service: with such diverse and spread out seating areas coupled with huge variety of food items....I am highly surprised how they are able to manage such lightening fast service. My every order came in less than expected time, starters, soups and shockingly even the sizzler and lasagna. Getting these two items in few minutes.... only magicians can manage. Hats off for pulling it off. I have never come across such prompt service anywhere else yet.
And the best part was Food : Unbelievable!
Tom-yum, Munchow, Mushroom Soups: piping hot, authentic. Tom-yum was loaded with exotic veggies.
Basil Paneer: I have rarely seen such soft and fresh Paneer. It didn't really need a lot of biting. Perfectly tangy and flavourful basil punch: bang On.
Veg cheese Tangadi Kabab: what a novelty!! What creativity!! A Pleasant surprise. Looks of a real non-veg Tangadi and filling of yummy cheese with lip smacking Schezwan sauce. My mouth is still watering while I write this. 😋😋
This is a MUST TRY: even for non-vegetarians
Lasagna: again well made, cheesy, loaded with exotic veggies. In the cool winter breezes, a hot lasagna at such a romantic and beautiful location is only a dream come true😍
American sizzler: as a food blogger/critique this can be one and only area where I can give a feedback: while the sizzler had good taste and butter tossed veggies, what it would have made a perfect one is probably a Patty. That's it.
Also tried sizzling brownie with ice cream: and it was as it should have been. Soft and fresh brownie, rightly placed on a pineapple slice with fresh vanilla ice-cream and...
