Shilpa's Homely Food Waksai — Restaurant in Maharashtra

Shilpa’s Homely Food is a fairly large place located on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway at Waksai, which is just after the Toll Plaza when driving from Lonavala to Karla. If driving on the Expressway, take the Karla-Lonavala exit & drive down on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway towards Karla and you will find it on the Right Hand side. It is well signposted & has ample Parking, which is good. They also have Toilets, but although they are clean, they are a bit smelly, so use them only if you have to. The owner Ms. Shilpa Sadekar is always there & personally supervises all the preparations, to ensure consistency. They are open right through the day with no break in the afternoon and also offer a delivery service, which is good. They now offer a wide range of Thalis – Veg, Pompret, Surmai, Prawns, Mutton & Chicken with a choice of Chapatis or Bhakris and Rice. All their food is freshly prepared & tasty and their rates are reasonable as well. There is ample open air as well as inside seating to accommodate large groups as well. Certainly a Highly Recommended place to visit if you are in the area & looking for Tasty...

A wonderful place to eat at lonavala ... The place is now called Shilpas homely Food however the taste is as great as ever. If you enjoy offbeat dhaba food and are looking for a decent place away from the rowdy crowd this is the place for you. A small 15 mi yes drives from Lonavala city centre providing an ideal place for families and couples.

Pros:

1. Really well cooked home like food,
2. Pleasant and well mannered staff
3. Reasonably priced between 100 to 450 rupees, with real value in terms of meaningful ambience
4. Don't expect village and fancy themes, expect what you need most, good food, ample parking space, toilets for ladies and gents, even a crib fir babies, option to call and reserve, and most importantly, well placed signs saying smoking and alcohol not allowed, making it ideal for families with kids

Very bad experience.. Today I placed order for chicken masala and when we received order i found 4 pieces of chickne in water type gravy,, i asked waiter what item is that it dosent have any taste and he repliend its chicken masala,, i told him food dosent have any taste and flavour,,, then he tooked my plate back and went to kitchen and after some time he gave me revised chicken masala now this time gravy was thick but still taste less.. Wasted money.. I should have made good chicken masala than this chef..very badd.. Dont order chicken masala they dont know how to make it... Try your luck for different item, may be you get good one.
