An Appalling Dining Experience - Waste of Money and a Health Risk
I visited Purohit Hotel today and had one of the worst dining experiences imaginable. The quality of the food was shockingly poor and clearly not fresh.
We ordered the Veg Machurian and Paneer Crispy for starters. While the Paneer Crispy seemed freshly cooked, the Veg Machurian was stale. The soup appeared to be leftovers from a buffet, likely from a function happening at the hotel, as it was watery and lukewarm.
The main course was even more disappointing. We ordered roti, naan, Paneer Banjara, Dal Tadka, and their signature Dum Matka Biryani. Without exception, every single item seemed like it had been prepared 4-5 hours earlier and left to sit.
The curries, especially the Paneer Banjara, had a distinct sour, spoiled smell. The Dal Tadka was completely cold. The roti and naan were cold and rubbery. The so-called "Dum Matka Biryani" was an absolute fraud. It tasted like cold, standard vegetable biryani from a bulk buffet that had been haphazardly scooped into a matka for presentation.
Paying nearly ₹2000 for this inedible, stale food was utterly worthless. To make matters worse, the experience resulted in an upset stomach, adding an unintended "health cost" to an already overpriced meal.
I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. The complete lack of quality control and serving of old food is unacceptable and a serious...
Read more1/5 Stars - Disappointing Experience at Grand Purohit
I recently visited Grand Purohit with high expectations, but unfortunately, the service was appalling. Here are the issues we faced:
Order Mix-ups
We were charged for items we never received. Wrong breads/rotis were served; we asked for garlic naan but got cheese garlic naan instead.
Food Quality Issues
The paneer tikka starter was overcooked. When we complained to the manager, he awkwardly replaced individual pieces using tongs, which was unprofessional.
Unresponsive Staff
When expressing our disappointment to the cashier, he dismissively nodded without apology or concern.
The entire experience was marred by inattentive and poorly trained staff. For a restaurant that promises grandeur, Grand Purohit falls woefully short.
Recommendation: Avoid this restaurant until they address their service and quality issues.
Rating Breakdown:
Food Quality: 2/5 Service: 1/5 Value for Money: 2/5 Ambiance: 3/5
Will I Return?: No
Advice to Management: Invest in staff training, improve order accuracy, and focus on customer satisfaction to regain customer trust.
Would love to hear from others who have experienced similar issues at...

My recent visit to The Graand Purohit in Wakad was by far the worst food experience I've had. If there were an option for zero stars, I would gladly choose it. Despite paying ₹129 for what was supposed to be an unlimited breakfast, most of the items were either not prepared or unavailable—even by 9 AM, a time when breakfast service should be in full swing.
What added to the frustration was the sheer lack of hygiene. The place looked poorly maintained, with no regard for cleanliness in the dining or serving areas. Utensils seemed unwashed, and the food counters were in complete disarray. On top of that, the staff and management were extremely rude and unprofessional. They showed no courtesy or willingness to address concerns, brushing off queries with arrogance.
The whole experience felt like a scam—promising variety and quality but delivering the complete opposite. I would not recommend this place to anyone, even if you're looking for a budget-friendly meal. A restaurant must maintain at least basic hygiene and customer respect, both of which were clearly lacking here. Save your money and choose a better...
