Many of you have asked me to cover Khasi food. So today I'm dedicating this to you.

I had some work at State Central Library after which I made my way to Alelang Restaurant.

I've been eating here since 2013 & it's always been nice as they have interesting khasi dishes served in Combos. The food has always been clean, fresh & tasty. My last visit was in 2022 but then the owner had retired from the kitchen & there was definitely a noticeable change.

Today I'm back here after 2 years. There is a Khasi combo where you can mix & match dishes. In a moment of frenzy I ordered a Roast Beef Combo along with a plethora of side dishes as described above. It was only when the 1100 bucks bill came that my bells rung.

I was able to finish 90% of everything by myself. Most of the things were good, like both the Roasts & the meat balls. However, I found no difference between the Dohjem & Dohneiiong except for the way the meat was cut & well the taste was also so so. The chicken curry was ok. The fish was hot & freshly fried. The rice was light & nice. Fries were a little soggy though. The dal wasn't included.

Overall the food was ok. But I still miss those good old hands cooking.

There were no rates for the side dishes, so please be aware & ask. The server also seemed to be in a frenzy stupor & gave me 2 extra dishes.

I was in a food coma for 24...

In a thali of Rs 200, we got only 2 small pieces of meat. The taste was just ok and not remarkable. Guys plz do not trust the reviews just make sure u order one diah first and then taste it. Rest after that...

The service here is very poor the first and the last that I will be going here there were no receptionist there I called the receptionist for half an hour while standing there. Won't be going...
