Ratnagiri Malvani used to be one of my favorite restaurants for enjoying authentic Malvani food, especially seafood. The flavors were consistently good, and it was a great place to visit with family. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience has declined, and my recent visit left me quite disappointed.
We had chosen to sit upstairs, expecting a relaxed meal with family. Instead, the atmosphere turned uncomfortable very quickly. A group of drunk men requested loud music, which was played at a volume that disrupted the entire dining area. What was supposed to be a family outing felt uneasy and awkward because of the disturbance.
What made matters worse was the lack of response from the management. The manager seemed completely inattentive to the situation, giving the impression that customer comfort was secondary to simply taking orders and making sales. It was disheartening to see that the focus had shifted away from creating a welcoming environment.
While the seafood and Malvani dishes remain tasty, it’s hard to recommend the restaurant anymore. If seafood is what you’re after, you might be better off ordering in or exploring other places where you can enjoy the meal without the chaos. Dining out should feel comfortable, and unfortunately, Ratnagiri Malvani no longer offers...
Read moreGrabbing attention of all the Malvani fans out there, Ratnagiri is located along the main lane of Mira Road. • Well dressed staff, completely attentive and if you were a child, you’d earn a chocolate too! • Surrounded by good thoughts on the wall, the fish tank neatly separates the family and non family zone. Also, this place successfully provides seating even if you’re on their waiting list. • I ordered the popular dish of this place i.e The Fish Thali. There are many varieties of fishes to choose from and so I chose: Pomfret Thali Surmai Thali Bangda Thali Their thali includes one piece of the respective Fish Shallow Fried & and the other Dipped in Curry made from Malvani Masala, one special vegetable served on that day, Rice/Pulav, Vade/Chapati/Bhakri & Solkadi. Everything is well cooked and without doubt the place excels in Malvani Cuisine & charged on a higher side. However, The Thali is only available when you visit the place.
For a change, I also ordered the following dishes which turned out to be a disappointment as compared to the Malvani dishes. 1.Chicken Biryani Gaoti Chicken Chicken Tandoori • Do not miss to grab the Malvani food here & i hope for improvisation in other categories of food too. {Ratnagiri...
Read morePathetic experience. wish I could give 0 stars.. really sad. Ordered malvani prawns.. it was ok ok. Nothing special. The fish thali was not good at all. Except for the fry fish. All the food eaten was bland. No spice.. not good.. We went specially for bheja masala.. ordered one bheja masala in green masala. We waited for half an hour for the order. By the time the order arrived, the other things on the table all turned cold. And to top it, the bheja masala order arrived wrong. It was made in red masala instead of green.. we cancelled the order. Finger bowls too were given only after we told them to do so.. they were with hardly any water in it. The bill took another half hour to be picked up. All in all, it was a disappointing experience.. wr have vowed never to return back there.. and also have informed all our friends and...
