Tonight’s dinner experience @ Banana Leaf was very satisfying. Place was packed as usual being a weekend but the front desk got us a table in 15-20 mins ( Great Management 👍 ) Our bill amount - Rs 1300/- for the two of us . Their food is served hot , quantity is decent , quality never falters , food is yum & staff is polite to make sure you have a good time . In terms for VFM - For a South Indian resturant with decent ambience & decor it is slightly expensive when your bill touches 1300 for two while eating idli’s , Wada, Lassi & coffee . Still BL is one of my fav South Indian Resturant ( It never disappoints) Must Have :- I recommend Idli & Dosas over other items Idli’s Chilli idli Andhra style - for spicy lovers Coorg idli - perfect balance for everyone to try Orange & yellow - sorry forgot the name ( they are served together ) Orange - it has a tangy flavour to it Yellow - soft , neutral , non spicy option Green colour - Spicy & thick paste , can smell the strong aroma . I love the strong flavours it offers. Medu Wada Palak Medu Wada - A nice blend & a dish everyone can have ( especially oldies ) Dosas 1) Rajni Dosa - A popular choice for people who prefer medium to spicy dosas 2) Cheese Chilly Garlic Dosa - Cheese & Garlic sprinkled on your Dosa without any masala inside Drinks Mango Lassi - A sweet drink but it’s worth it Filter Coffee - Super ( have coffee here over tea it’s just superb ) Our order for two was as follows :- 1) idli chilli Andhra style - if you like spicy like me tis is a must 2) Coorg idli - A very popular choice - tomato base acts as a balance between bland & spicy & is suited for all ( an option for everyone ) 3) Palak medu wada - Not a big Medu Wada fan but I simply love tis combo @ BL ( u get 5 pcs ) It’s soft , crispy & Palak gives a refreshing taste in a medu Wada . I’m sure everyone will love tis ( especially the oldies ) Drinks 1) Mango Lassi - All time favourite & since Mango season is on BL has an entire drinks menu on Mango ( see pics ) 2) Filter coffee - If you want a hot drink option & like coffee then you have to try their filter coffee ( hot , refreshing & tasty ) Have coffee over tea it’s simply better here @ BL

We visited Banana Leaf Andheri based on our great experiences at other branches, but unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment. Food: • Korma & Puri – One of the better dishes; the korma was flavorful, and the puris (served in a portion of five) were quite filling. • Benne Masala Dosa & Benne Sada Dosa – Both were really good. • Idli – Way too heavy and lacked flavor. • Medu Wada – Served five pieces, but the taste was very bland and unremarkable. • Filter Coffee – Ordered but never received, yet it was added to our bill (which we only realized after getting home). • Lime Soda – Not good. • Signature Paan – They initially claimed they had run out, but we could clearly see it at the counter. When we asked about it, they denied having any, which was disappointing. Ambience & Service: • The AC was not working due to an electricity issue, making it uncomfortably hot. • The washroom had no lights, which was quite inconvenient. • They were severely understaffed, making service slow and chaotic. The waiters seemed overwhelmed, rushed, and at times came across as rude. Given our past experiences with Banana Leaf, this was disappointing, and we wouldn’t recommend this branch.

BANANA LEAF There are very few places in Mumbai which boast of good south Indian food. Banana leaf definitely ranks #1 for me.The ambience is simple and ethnic. Some of the menu items were a fresh thought. South Indian food in Mumbai with a difference in Taste, Quality & ambience, The serving staff needs a little improvement. Overall its a place to relish southern delicacies if you are a lover of dosas/bisele bath/vadas/idlis &mini idlis, etc. They have an extensive menu, mostly south indian dishes from Karnataka, Keral, Tamilnadu & Andhra pradesh. 🍽️:What We Ordered: - 🍽️ Mulgai Idli ( was something very different but good in taste ) 🍽️ Rasam Vada ( 5 vadas in rasam, vadas were soft & rasam tangy & mild on spiciness) 🍽️ South Indian Thali ( presented well, tempting & great on taste ) 🍽️ Rajni Dosa ( loved the masala & sambar taste ) 🍽️ Beverages : Apple Detox & Red Kiwi ( would have tasted better if iced well ) 🍽️ Brownie with Icecream (tasted nice & good) A perfect ending to a perfect meal. >Quality - 5/5 >Taste - 5/5 >Cost - 5/5 >Value worth for money - 5/5 >Overall experience - 5/5 Enjoy eating and follow us on Insta : @foodieklix for more reviews:)

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Banana Leaf Restaurant in Andheri, and overall, my experience was quite good. The restaurant offered a delightful ambiance, and the food was delicious. However, there were a couple of aspects that could use improvement, namely the speed of service and the responsiveness of the staff.

Let's start with the positives. The atmosphere at Banana Leaf was truly inviting. The restaurant's decor exuded a warm and welcoming vibe, making it an excellent place for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The seating arrangements were comfortable, and the overall cleanliness of the establishment was commendable.

Now, moving on to the highlight of any dining experience - the food. I must say that Banana Leaf truly delivered in this department. The menu boasted an extensive selection of mouthwatering dishes, and the flavors were exquisite. From the aromatic biryanis to the flavorful curries, each dish was prepared with finesse and showcased the authentic taste of Indian cuisine. The presentation of the food was also appealing, and the portion sizes were generous.

However, there were a few aspects that prevented me from giving Banana Leaf a perfect score. Firstly, the service was not as prompt as one would expect. Despite the restaurant not being overly crowded during my visit, there were delays in getting our orders taken and receiving the food. It seemed as though the staff was slightly overwhelmed, leading to a lag in their service. This could certainly be improved to enhance the overall dining experience.

Furthermore, I found the staff to be somewhat unresponsive to customer requests. There were instances where we had to repeat our orders or ask for assistance multiple times before receiving any attention. It was disappointing to see that the staff members were not as attentive or proactive as they should have been, especially considering the restaurant's otherwise pleasant atmosphere.

In conclusion, Banana Leaf Restaurant in Andheri offered a great dining experience with its delectable food and inviting ambiance. However, the lack of fast service and unresponsiveness of the staff were notable downsides. Despite these issues, I believe that Banana Leaf has the potential to be a top-notch restaurant if they address these areas of improvement. I would still recommend giving it a try, especially for those seeking a flavorsome Indian meal in a...
