To celebrate my brother’s birthday, we decided to try out a new spot in Charkop, Grand Royal Kitchen, and what a delightful experience it turned out to be! First, I must say, a big thanks to the owner for bringing a non-vegetarian haven like this to Charkop – a much-needed addition to the area.
Ambience and Service The moment we stepped in, we were welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The decor is tasteful, with a cozy and well-thought-out layout that instantly sets a comfortable tone for dining. It’s evident that a lot of effort has been put into making the ambience both family-friendly and perfect for gatherings with friends. The staff was attentive, friendly, and ensured we were well taken care of throughout our meal.
The Food Now, onto the food – the real highlight of our evening! We began with a variety of starters, and the tandoori and schezwan prawns were simply outstanding, seasoned and cooked to perfection. For soup, we tried the chicken munchow soup, which was rich, flavorful, and just the right way to start the meal.
Our main course featured a spread of dishes, but the prawns and mutton were the stars. The mutton was perfectly tender, cooked with a depth of flavor that’s hard to come by. The tandoori roti and chapati were soft, fresh, and had that home-cooked touch that made the meal even more satisfying.
Overall Experience From the cozy ambience to the delightful service and, of course, the delicious food, Grand Royal Kitchen offers everything you’d want for a family dinner or a get-together with friends. The place is equally great for a birthday celebration or any special occasion, with an atmosphere that allows for both lively conversations and intimate gatherings.
In short, Grand Royal Kitchen is a fantastic addition to Charkop’s dining scene, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place with quality non-vegetarian options. We’ll definitely...
Read moreI went to this place after seeing good reviews, though I later realized that most of the reviews were posted in a bunch of 8-10 on single days through various ids, hinting at paid and managed reviews. So, we ordered half Mutton Handi, we were 2 adults and 2 kids, and a half handi is usually more than enough, but were surprised when the food arrived and it was no more than a smallish bowl that hardly 2 could eat. Then we asked them how many pieces did this have, they said 4, well, . We were told this is malwani style, instead this was a Punjabi/Mughlai thick Rogan curry. Suddenly,I noticed my 9 yr old was struggling with his so called mutton piece, but wait it was a chicken neck, we called the manager to complain, meanwhile I noticed that the piece I had was only chewy tissue, the one we usually discard. The same with my other son, it was tissue.I have included pictures of all. Finally we decided to eat the final piece which looked like a nalli piece. We couldn’t get the meat off the bone, it was obviously a deep frozen piece which wasn’t cooked properly. Santosh Pujari, the manager came and we showed him the issues. He cleanly said, the chicken thing shouldn’t have happened, but I won’t accept that the food isn’t good, he was plain and outright arrogant and rude. Unhygienic, tasteless, frozen ,overpriced and stale food, topped with rude and arrogant management. Try to see beyond the paid reviews and go at...
Read moreI visited this restaurant after seeing all the positive reviews, but my experience was somewhat underwhelming. While the portion sizes were generous, the taste and quality of the food didn’t quite live up to expectations.
Food Review: • Chicken Tandoori – Nicely cooked with good flavors, but unfortunately, it was served cold, which took away from the experience. • Chicken Bhuna Masala – The dish was average at best, lacking the rich and bold flavors one would expect. It tasted quite bland. • Surmai Fish Thali – The biggest disappointment of the meal. The fish had no real taste, and the rice that came with the thali was of poor quality, making the overall dish unimpressive. • Chicken Masala – One of the better dishes of the meal. It had good flavor and was enjoyable. • Tandoori Roti – Slightly stiff and not as soft as it should be, making it a little difficult to enjoy with the curries.
Service & Ambience:
The service was decent, but when we raised concerns about the food, the person at the counter could have been more polite and a better listener. A more customer-friendly approach would have improved the experience. The ambiance was okay, but nothing extraordinary.
Overall Verdict:
While the portion sizes were satisfying, the taste and quality didn’t match the hype. Some dishes were decent, but others were a letdown, especially the fish thali. Better execution and more attentive service could make a...
