Krishna Chhaya Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Mumbai

It’s ok, it has some good points and some obvious bad points, depending on who you are going with. The place is centered around the “bar” aspect, and is a little dingy/shady. However, their chicken lollipop is fairly good. Portion size is for 2 people for every dish. Decent option to pick up common starters. ₹200-250 per non-veg dish, but there may be a little fluctuation. Vegetarian dishes aren’t much cheaper, basically within ₹30-50 of their non-veg counterparts. Don’t follow the menu pictures uploaded, everything is at least 50-70% higher priced than that.

The negatives are the crowd, since there will be people drinking almost every time of the day. The lower level is basically for drinkers/smokers. If you’re going here for drinking & smoking with some other guys then I guess you’ll be fine. However, this is not really a “family restaurant” due to the atmosphere. Upper level is quiet outside rush hours(presumably 12:00-2:00pm & post work hours), but the lighting is dim. This is the only option unless you don’t mind cigarette smoke. It has AC so the air gets filtered, and nobody was smoking when I went. Basically single guys all around. Based on the atmosphere, I would have given it 2 stars for anyone going with family.

However, the positive aspect improved my rating. The starters, especially the standard common starters are quite good. However, their noodles are oily. Given that people eat a bunch of oily food with alcohol, it’s not surprising. If you were to simply pick up standard starters, you might find it worth 4 stars or above. Given the very active bar, these options are also bound to be decently fresh. Food comes within 15-20 mins if you order...

Today I was at the restaurant and we ordered for Malaysian kabab,dal khichadi and curd rice.The starter was presented very well,but no taste.It was full of cabbages and seemed they were boiled and just a bit fried,hardly any paneer in it.The dal khichdi was full of dal with no rice and the curd rice had half cooked rice in it.When we told about the rice being half cooked,we were told we would get another one.When the other bowl came it was just tasting as if the same was heated and brought. Extremely unhappy...
