Right from street food vendors to swanky restaurants, Lower Parel has been a favourite hotspot of every food lover, literally! While there are many fancy places to go with your folks, Lower Parel still managed to be on the top of everyone's list.
LOTD has fastly gained the reputation of a party place. Chef has done a marvellous job in curating the best dishes and drinks. Mind you their Butter beers and LIIT’s are the best seller.
Going by the name Lord of the drinks, they are not kidding about the name. One of the Asia’s biggest bar area. This place can easily accommodate 100 folks at a time. It is a cosy restaurant with seatings which are perfectly arranged considering the customer’s preference, be it a lower seating arrangement or higher ones.
The menu at Lord Of The Drinks is contemporary, showcasing an commendable mix of Italian, Chinese, Continental and North-Indian. The decor hints towards a medieval theme, red lights all around. It does give an exceptional look.
The food and drinks at this place were quite exquisite, actually better than I expected. We went through the extensive menu they are offering and decided to go with some of them suggested by our attendant who was pretty much well versed with the menu.
Me and my companion were totally geared up for the delicacies which were going to show up at the table. We had an amazing experience trying out the below items, also note the recommendations;
Cocktails:
Butter Bear (Highly Recommended) - It is a super concoction of vanilla vodka, Tennessee honey, whiskey, lager, caramel, egg white & apple juice. The sweet taste on the palate really was something. With the addition of Tennessee honey, this drink is a sheer form of love for all the cocktail lovers out there. A must try.
Melon twist (Highly Recommended) - This particular drink was served in an attractive glass, with dry ice poured on it. It was sort of a magic to see. It is a mixture of vodka, watermelon, basil, coriander, sweet and sour mix, passion fruit and flames cinnamon. You will fall in love with it.
Blood Delight LIIT (Highly Recommended): It’s made with equal parts of vodka, rum, gin, tequila, absinthe, elderflower wine. It gives the drink the same amber hue as its namesake. This is recommended for the people who loves strong drinks.
Food:
Roasted Beef Pizza (Highly Recommended): WOW is the word for quantity of toppings and quality of taste. One bite, and I knew I am falling in love with this delicious thing. I like it when the dough and crust are perfect in a pizza. The crust was not too crunchy and was burnt just at the top of it, the way I like it. I prefer crunchy over soft. It should not be too burnt at the bottom. I would rate their crust at 4/5 which would be average not too soft and a little crunchy. The cheese covered the entire pizza and it tasted good. The sauce was used on an average amount, a little salty but was perfect. I would rate the toppings 5/5.
Butter Chicken Wings (Highly Recommended): This was served with mini garlic naan and makhani gravy. The charred chicken wings and that makhani gravy gives a delectable taste to your palate. Garlic naan was like a cherry on the cake.
Fish and Chips (Highly Recommended): Perfectly crispy and the mint sauce went well with it. Super fresh fish is used.
Grilled Prawns (Highly Recommended): Yummiest smokey grilled prawns with peri peri salsa and salad.
Arabic Chicken Skewers (okkayish): Arabic spiced flavoured chicken, Fattoush, hummus and pita. The best hummus and pita I ever had. And fattoush is a Middle Eastern peasant salad made from toasted or fried pieces of khubz combined with mixed greens and other vegetables, such as radishes and tomatoes.
Desserts:
Milk cake pie (Recommended): The Crispy Cake pudding was just perfect and the burnt marshmallows worked wonders with it.
Nutella and Banana Bruschetta (Highly Recommended): Crispy Sweet bread, nutty banana cream mousse, Nutella, crispy banana flakes. I was drooling over these. A perfect sweet end to...
Lord of the drinks has its own limelight and vibe when you enter the Kamala Mills compound. Touted to have the longest bar in Asia which goes hand in hand with their in house specials cocktails which is a must try to give you chills/kick and memorable time for sure. Well with couple of drinks lotd offers a huge range of multi – cuisine dishes which are well curated and mouth-watering. Food:
1 Butter Chicken Wings – Yumm!! Succulent chicken wings dipped inside butter chicken gravy served along with mini naans and makhani gravy. Loved the presentation and portion of appetizer it had to offer. Kuddos to bring a change in our regular chicken wings.
2 Fish tikka – Fish used in the preparation was sole fish. Properly marinated in tandoor served along with green chutney. Each was tender and full of flavours.
3 Arabic Chicken Skewers – My verdict for this appetizers would be to definitely go for it. I’m sure you would thank me later. Love for Arabic chicken dishes is increasing day by day gosh raising your taste buds to the next level. Mild spiced chicken marinated with yoghurt so that it retains to remains tender after grilling served along with Hummus, pita bread and fattoush (salad). Hummus was creamy and ultra-smooth simply melts in your mouth. Finger licking good boy!!
4 Chicken Kofta Biryani – Loved the concept of chicken kofta biryani served along with raita and papad. Biryani was served in a small bucket. Taste wise was expecting biryani would burst out with flavours but it didn’t happened so. Somewhat I felt biryani was missing its original authentic taste.
5 Milk Cake Pie – At first we were confused state of mind what to order for desserts as there was three options in the menu. After a lot of brain storming we opted to go for Milk Cake pie. Feed your soul is the word for this dessert. Simply irresistible and delish. Crispy milk pudding tart filled with Kalakand (baked milk cake) along with burnt marshmallows. A big hit to your taste buds. Highly recommended!!
Drinks:
1 LOTD LIIT – Boht Hard Mixologist!!! With one sip I was like will I be able to finish it. Too strong in taste as it had the concoction of five white spirits, passion fruit, mulled wine & absinthe flamed orange. With our attendant giving the flame to the orange peel on top making the cocktail truly lit in all senses.
2 Smokey Chocolate Martini – Well this one is a smokey affair of cinnamon accompanied by concoction of whisky, vodka, Kahlua, chocolate and fresh cream. From the top you might go with the assumption it to be a chocolate based drink but with the perfect balance of other liquors in it makes it strong and tipsy.
3 LOTD Colony – Welcome to the LOTD colony people. If you have entered lord of the drinks then why not take a walk to its colony as well. So its colony of whisky, triple sec, chocolate, orgeat (sweet syrup), lime, vermouth smoked with rosemary. It is strong and sweet in taste.
4 Melon Twist – One of the lords within the cocktails having its own personality being served in a twisted conical glass. With no sign of rains this drinks surely gives you the refreshed feeling which is concoction of vodka, watermelon, basil, coriander, passion fruit and smoked cinnamon.
Ambience – Along with longest bar in Asia it also serenades you having dinner under the cluster of dimmed lights as if you are sitting in an open area under the sky having best of time. With the clock ticking slowly the decibel of sound makes you tap your feet and grove with the music sitting on the chair. Place is so huge and sprawling it can easily accommodate around 50 – 60 people. There is a big screen at the end displaying trippy visuals and live sports if there is any match going on.
Service – Our attendants Mr. Rakesh and George took great care of our dishes ordered. Some of the dishes were...

Lord of the drinks often referred as LOTD (Lower Parel) has one of the longest island bar in Asia. It is approximately 210ft long which is a lot. The island bar is placed in the middle of the outlet with tables surrounding it. The lights add to the already beautiful and picturesque ambiance of LOTD. They primarily specialize in drinks but that doesn't mean they screw other areas. They are up to the mark in most of the areas including decor, including different cusines, presentation and well-dressed staff. The only place they lack in is service. Sometimes you have to wait a bit till someone addresses you. The music here is newfangled. One can find all age groups people stepping in here (obviously except below 18). They have another outlet in Andheri which is not as huge as this one.
As we all know this place is known for drinks so we tried a few. The first one was ALL BERRY BANG which was a mixture of a lot of berries as per the staff and it turns out to be just that. We could taste a mixture of berries in the drink, strawberry and blueberry for sure. It was very thick and through the paper straw we could hardly sip it, nonetheless it made my day. I crave for all kinds of berries and this was the perfect one for me. The best of cocktail was SMOKEY CHOCOLATE MARTINI- it contained whiskey, vodka, Kalhua & chocolate syrup topped with chocolate sticks and smoke. I have a sweet tooth and so I had to love this just by looking at the ingredients. It turned out to be worth the hype. The cocktail leaves an after taste which makes it even better.
We tried a few appetizers and the best one was MUGHLAI PANEER ROLL. This dish was one of the chef's recommended. It was mughlai paneer wrapped in parantha in the form of wrap bites served with onions and green chilly mayo. You will need the mayo to consume it otherwise you will feel it is very dry. Flavor was good, well presented and well served. I wasn't in the element to have something heavy like pizza, pasta so I ended up ordering the HAKKA STYLE NOODLES. This was in sufficient quantity for a person served along with tangy chilliy sauce and schezwan. I was almost done and then I saw the dessert section which was named as dessert studio and just had three desserts. I have already tried the other two at their other outlet so went for NUTELLA AND BANANA BRUSCHETTA- this is inspired by Italian cuisine where the base was a grilled bread, on top it was a cut banana piece topped with really well dressed Nutella cream. My taste buds really enjoyed the taste of Nutella as it was very similar to a mousse.
Other items ordered were Sundowner, Grilled prawns, Wild mushroom galouti on toast & Spaghetti carbonara with added chicken. Some dishes were really made well and some could be better. Our table was served by Santosh, he was always smiling and suggested a few good dishes. I believe he was serving a lot of tables so we experienced slow service. The washrooms are very clean and hygienic. They also have a smoking room inside the outlet. When we entered the lobby, the lady at the concierge walked us to the table which was a nice gesture and customer service. Overall enjoyed the outlet as much as I can. Hope to visit again.
