MALVANI CHASKA — Restaurant in Mumbai

This restaurant, located near Ghatkopar bus depot on Link Road and close to the Eastern Express Highway.

Since we was traveling around we decided to give a try but it turned to disappointment. Don't fall into the trap of its appearance. At first, the photos, high review count, and name may convince you, but it's a big NO. The hotel management is not malvani. The owner was unavailable, and the staff, who were not Maharashtrian, struggled to understand some things. There was lot of negative reviews about poor service and rude behavior from staff, but we didn't experience any such issues. They were good, albeit lacking some services, like not providing a finger bowl. The place was empty, with no waiting time. Although four AC units were installed, with three of them on, it still felt hot.

Now, about the taste - we ordered multiple dishes (see pictures), but they didn't meet expectations. Except for the 'Banjara kebab' and 'tandoori lollipop', I didn't enjoy much else. The 'bombil fry' was good but overpriced. They should add two more pieces for rate they added. The 'chicken fry' dish was the worst, containing bones instead of being boneless. Avoid it at all costs. The 'manchow soup' was just okay, and the 'prawns fry' wasn't impressive either. The thalis we tried - crab, king surmai, and special chicken - were below average.

The ambiance was more than okay, but the biggest reason to avoid this place is its pricey menu. We've tried many Malvani restaurants, but this one's rates were almost 1.5 times higher, without justifying the taste.

The final verdict is to avoid it if you crave good taste, all my 6 family members were unhappy and lastly, the restaurant should focus on...

On my personal level i have tasted about 20 plus malvan restaurant in my blogging career .. This place has defiantly a different vibe and taste all together cant name it to be the best or worst.. Its on a average because of few reason, like its taste mainly it's full of coconut n nothing else I felt so.. Because the taste was not at all appealing to me on one side and on the other hand the meat was cooked tenderly. If u like or your love for coconut prepared food is more then above another taste then please go ahead.. The spice in the food was on a reasonable levels. Taste was quite same for every other dish tried. Might be possible that they use the traditional gravy base for all dish preparation in a same cuisines. Didn't try anything else from malvan cuisine mutton special thali and a chicken liver masala dry.. Both tasted me cent...

Quality of food wasn't upto the expectation,was willing to sit in ac but because of no seats available had to sit in non ac and God oh God it was so hot and humid because of the tandoor which is set right in front of the entrance all the warm air and humid cloudy hot vapours were coming in the hotel ,this really made us uncomfortable and at uneasy should have put up exhaust or some sort of cooler,....over all the malvani in the brand's name is going away ill recommend many other stuff which is epic on the menu but if you are looking for that spicy hoy epic malvani taste do not expect that here.

I'll also recommend that they should really clean there kitchen because the state i saw i would have ran the other side....pls maintain the basic hygiene so the customers will come back .it's just a review a genuine one to make a difference.
