Situated over a fourth of a mile away from the highway, the pan-Asian restaurant Noyna -- inside the relatively new and distinct Taj The Trees -- throws up a plain yet premium background and some sui generis delicacies. The plush blue sofas promise to provide a cosy seating and the complimentary opener -- the sweet and tangy Papaya strips -- is a tempting way to start the proceedings. The masala peanuts -- which come along with those papaya strips -- might find themselves on the eight ball; replacing them with flavoured cashews might just buttress the unfolding and make it impeccable. Ah, that might be a high expectation!

I ordered a watermelon mojito and an orange mojito in mocktails; both were fantastic, came within 10 minutes and had more than average sizes when compared to same-star restaurants. As per instructions, both had medium-power soda and were slightly sweet and sour, respectively. In the appetizers, we ordered a Pork Bao, which is available in two sizes -- small and large ( having two and four pieces, respectively ). One can get the same item in other Taj properties in the city, and it is a must-try; the bao was soft and filled with minced pork made in a slightly sweet sauce. In the mains, we ordered Chilean Sea Bass and Chicken Fried Rice. The former was made in an unconventional preparation but it was scrummy; the black pepper sauce made the dish just a tad pungent. The price was comparatively lower than same-star restaurants and the size was average.

What stood out in particular were the desserts -- the date cake and another one ( whose name I have forgotten ). The former was rich in dates, which came girded by a slightly thick date pudding and topped with vanilla ice cream; it was sweet overall. The latter was amazingly and mildly sour ( and salty ), topped up with an orange syrup, girded by cream shots; vanilla ice cream -- which came by default with this dish -- doesn't pair up well and should be taken out for this dish. Both the desserts tasted authentic, were true to their apposite descriptions and arrived within 10 mins from ordering. We were inside the restaurant well beyond the closing hours and kudos to the staff for ensuring that the experience wasn't compromised.

The hot air balloon emitting dim yellow light is plain looking yet presents a nice aura to sit under for a premium late-night dinner; the richly coloured brown walls deserve a painting or two on them, as is generally the case in such restaurants. One thing the restaurant might want to get fixed quickly is its nameplate, which isn't anywhere where it ideally should be, not even on the face or wall at the entrance of the restaurant ( unlike its North Indian counterpart on the same floor ); this is the first time I have visited any such restaurant whose nameplate is pretty concealed. This certainly couldn't have been a brain fade! This is like a chap introducing himself in detail but forgetting to quote his name. When pointed out the same ( out of curiosity ), the staff showed a bar counter outside the restaurant ( which is a part of the restaurant ) where the name was written, but it wasn't in normal sight, and on top of that, the nameplate was quite overshadowed by the hanging leaves of a branch.

The restaurant menu is neither available on the Taj website nor anywhere else, and this, nearly a year after the inauguration of the restaurant is something, is something that doesn't...

So glad I paid no heed to the reviews on Zomato, this place is absolutely lovely. The food's delicious and innovative, the staff's delightful and the restaurant itself is quite cozy with a capacity of 70, indoors and outdoors included.

We walked in without a reservation before heading home from a meeting. It's on the 3rd floor of Taj The Trees with a bit of a winding way to get to. We walked into the Indian restaurant, Shamiana, by mistake, but one of the waitstaff accompanied us to Nonya where we were welcomed with quite a bit of enthusiasm with an palate cleanser that they called a "Wasabi Mule" and an amuse bouche made of Tofu.

I love it when the staff are helpful with recommendations and I'm glad we listened to Mrudula. Here's everything we had, Wasabi Mule - Very Good Tofu Amuse-bouche - Good Som Tam Salad - Good Nonya Karage - Highlight of the evening Sake Sashimi - Could've been better Kung Pao Chicken - Good Burnt Garlic Fried Rice - Good

Service was amazing, we even got to pay our compliments to the Chef. The Wasabi Mule & the Nonya Karage(I won't explain what it is, will leave it for you to order and have them explain it) which is quite ingenious were delicious. Portion size was quite good for 2 people, no complaints on that either.

I would like to add a note to Taj Hotels about their signature air freshener. I hope you change it to a hypoallergenic natural or organic fragrance. The one you currently have in the lobby and common spaces is extremely harmful for people with fragrance sensitivity which isn't talked about in India, but is highly prevalent. I was in the lobby for 5 minutes and it's given me a soar throat, runny nose and a...

⭐️We recently dined at Nonya, a Pan Asian restaurant, located at Taj Trees, Vikhroli. It was an exceptional experience overall.

•We tried Pepper Water Chestnut Potato, an absolute delight. The explosion of flavors was remarkable. •The Pad Thai followed suit showcasing authentic taste and texture. •The Dim Sum Crystal Veg was good, earning 3.5 stars, while the Sushi impressed with a solid 4-star performance •The Stir Fried Vegetables & Fried Rice were a highlight, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating. Each bite was a burst of freshness and flavors.

🥳What added an extra layer of joy to our visit was the restaurant's thoughtful arrangement for a small birthday celebration. Their attention to detail and effort in making our occasion beautiful was truly appreciated. Annu made sure everything was perfect!

⭐️In conclusion, Nonya offers a delightful Pan Asian culinary experience with a diverse menu and impressive flavors. The attentive service and the extra effort they put into making celebrations special contribute to a memorable dining experience. Highly...

This is an excellent restaurant with a great ambiance. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Both indoor/outdoor location has a very good vibe. Outdoor is definitely recommended at night as the view is very nice. The host, servers and chef are very attentive which is nice. They have a large quantity of drinks and they also made me a drink off the menu when I asked. Their food menu is expansive and they were willing to customize some of them for our table. Everything was delicious and they were very nice to bring a small cake that was off the menu when they heard about a celebratory event at our table. Really wonderful service. Highly recommend visiting this place.
