Good food and service as well. I have a store at Crawford market. We searched Indian on Zomato and one of the top searches was Patel restaurant. Unlike its name it’s a great Non vegatarian restaurant and it is easy on the pocket too.e and my family were a total of 8 people & they have a concept of private dining where there is a small room for a group of 6 or more people.we ordered the following dishes
1.Sweet corn chicken: Lovely creamy soup with chunks of chicken. The sweet corn was also very fresh. Perfect Chinese soup spot on.
2.Kashmiri Yakhni Soup: This was spicy and my dad loved it. It was essentially mutton shorba cooked with fresh veggies and loss of chillies. Made daddy cry happily
3.Sonali Kebab: This was an attempt at trying something whacky and it tasted amazing . This was pieces of chicken with mixed chicken wrapped around it. Extremely filling and had 6 pieces of it.
4.Prawns Fry: Since this was a special on the given day we hesitantly tried the fish but to our amazement it was very fresh. This prawns cooked in Malvani thick spicy gravy. Great flavours
5.Hyderabadi Pomfret: well marinated pomfret which was fresh. The size was a bit on the smaller side but good bang of flavours
6.Surmai Fry: The best dish of the evening. The fish was veryyy fresh and the masala was not over powering yet did the job. Must order , Great size
7.Russian Salad: Another stand out dish. The mayonnaise and fruits was very fresh and refreshing. This is a must order here.
8.Murali Kebab: Good tasting kebab and was well marinated in chicken.
9.Mutton sali boti: the best main course dish. The mutton was very well cooked and amazing flavour. The curry was the best among all main courses.
10.Nargisi chicken:Green chicken gravy with the minced chicken.
11.Chicken Lajawab: Ref chicken gravy with 8 pieces of chunks of meet. Good quantity.
12.Kepsa rice :This was chicken fried rice with chicken shezwan gravy at its base. This is good if your a big group . Can easily suffice for rice needs for 6 individuals
Pista badam kulfi: We needed to end our feast with some sweet feat and ordered the authentic Indian kulfi. It had good amounts of Badaam and was rich and creamy
16.Brownie with ice cream: Generally you don’t associate a good brownie in a traditional place but the cake was moist and the ice cream and sauce delivered the perfect combo.
All in all we were pleasantly Suprised with the overall hospitality and food preparations and quantity. Amazing authentic Mughlai feast...
Read moreTuna, Tuna cried the manager after declining it to the waiter, It's our speciality, he said. Fish is it? I asked. Yes, he said! Yes said Dad. SWEET DISH IT WAS! WAS TOO FULL FOR FISH MAIN COURSE after Chicken Chatpatta.
Excellent Chicken Chatpatta 👌 Manager's recommendation after even recommending SPICY BUTTER CHICKEN, IT MAKES YOU BLEED IN STOMACH, TRIED TWICE AT GULSHAN-É-IRAN, BLED TWICE !
Loaded with Chicken, CHICKEN CHATPATTA had excellent not overly spicy buttery gravy. But Lata Restaurant, has more Butter, check out my review! Equally good is Spice of Mumbai for Spicy Chicken Tikka Masala.
Papad was too little, but Dad found it too good so ordered again. Butter Tandoori Roti and Butter Naan were BIGGER than Gulshan-É-Iran at Masjid Bunder, Pritam da Dhabha, Punjab at DADAR, Pavillion (Kandivali) but was NOT BUTTERED ADEQUATELY ONLY ON ONE Piece unlike Jain Surbhi and others.
Ambience is lively, large family combined a lot of tables but Lights went off before we reached. Last time we went to Gulshan-É-Iran was bcuz of Lights going off here. Not this time, it came back within a minute. It is going on since many months now.
Coming back from wash basin, Dad insteadly said Yes to waiter as he Asked FOR TRYING THE TUNA FISH, A Moment after I declined.
A Sweetdish, Kunafa, it was. Dad laughed but was too POLITE to send it back.
Kunafa was Milk cream, I doubt if they say its cheese, served with Water, they said it was Rose Water, WARM dessert seasoned with Sev, I guess, Negligible Dry fruits/ Nuts. Good not...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Patel Restaurant, and I must say, the Chicken Seekh Kebab was absolutely divine. The moment it arrived at the table, the aroma of freshly grilled kebabs wafted through the air, tantalizing my senses. The kebabs were perfectly spiced, with just the right balance of flavors that left a lasting impression. Each bite was tender and juicy, with the meat cooked to perfection. The kebabs had a slight smokiness from the grill, which added an extra layer of depth to the flavor.
The accompanying mint chutney was the perfect complement, enhancing the overall experience with its tangy and refreshing notes. Along with the kebabs, we ordered a variety of dishes, and I must say, everything we tasted was equally impressive. From the butter chicken to the naan, each dish was packed with authentic flavors and prepared with great attention to detail.
The service was prompt and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. Patel Restaurant truly knows how to deliver quality food, and their Chicken Seekh Kebab is a must-try for anyone who appreciates well-crafted, flavorful kebabs. I can’t wait to return and explore more...
