The restaurant is a retail restaurant, first of its kind in Mumbai, where you can buy all that you see. Bent Chair in association with Plum has come up with this unique concept where you Eat-Indulge-Shop/Buy
Heading straight to the food that I tried at Plum by Bent Chair -
We started with 2 Soups - Truffle White Fungus Clear Soup and Classic Hot and Sour. Truffle White Fungus soup had truffle infused mushroom broth, white fungus and enoki mushroom. This has a very strong and distinct taste, so those are are open to these ingredients may go for this. Amongst the 2 soups, I preferred the Classic Hot and Sour. Creamy soy broth with carrots and tofu! Spicy and tangy! Must try!
Next we tried couple of Sushi - Cream Cheese Urumaki and Crunchy Tofu Hosomaki. Urumaki is made of avacado, cucumber, spicy plum along with Cream cheese and Mayonnaise. I really liked this Sushi. Recommended! Hosomaki has tofu with filling made of carrots, daikon (radish) and plum mayonnaise. It tasted nice as well. People can pick and choose between the two basis their preference.
Next from their appetisers or start-up basket section we tried the Potato Sesame Toast and Edmame and Truffle Wontons. I again loved both the dishes. Especially the Wontons, with Edmame soybeans, carrots, corn, truffle (fungus) and cream cheese patty. Must try!
Along with food, we called for couple of mocktails and shakes to go with the food. We ordered the Guava Delight, Strawberry and Vanilla Iced Tea and Honey and Almond Shake. Would recommend the drinks in the same order.
Moving to some more food, we next tried the Dimsums - We had the Pan Fried Gyoza and Sweet Potato Dimsums. Dimsums are usually presented in 1 big wooden covered basket, here it was presented to us in 4 mini baskets which had 1 dumpling each. It was so cute! Loved the sweet potato dimsum! Highly Recommended! Gyoza a Japanese preparation containing Water chestnut, cabbage and corn. Both dimsums were on the sweeter side, advised to have along with all the sauces they give.
Next from the Small Plates section, we tried 2 chef recommendations and specialities at Plum by Bent ChairΒ Spiced Turnip Cakes and Planter Broccoli Bird Eye. Very unique and a something you can definitely try. Turnip cake - made of rice flour and daikon with spices and garlic. Tempura Broccoli preparation was also nice, but amongst the two I preferredΒ the Turnip Cakes.
Moving to the mains and some curries with rice - we ordered it along Garlic Buttered Fried Rice - Jasmin Rice. Curries ordered were East Asian Curry and Asian Green in Oyster Sauce. Asian curry is the Yellow Bean Curry marinated with spices, strong influence of coconut. I personally loved it. Those who don't prefer coconut, should go for either vegetable stir fry with szechuan sauce or tofu mushroom bok choy black bean. I wouldn't personally recommend Oyster and dark soy sauce gravy.
Finally moving to the desserts section, Plum by Bent Chair has 2 options, I picked the Plum Tropical Fruit CItrus Cheesecake. So unique so good! A perfect note to end a fabulous meal. Lime Cheesecake in form of Ice Cream Scoop served with tropical fruits like - papaya, mango, banana, jack fruit, etc. So Yum! Highly recommended and must try!
All in all I did 2 out of the three things that Plum by Bent Chair offers. I ate and I indulged. I really like some of their art as well, may be I will come back soon enough to do the third thing which is buy something exclusive. Fantastic time and something that one must give a shot if in Kamala Mills. You...

The staff is so courteous and warm and they will actually cater to you with complete dedicated attention.
One of them actually helped me click a pic as well π
So here goes the food items and their review.
Orange Blossom - This was a perfect mocktail with orange pulp, you could feel the burst of taste in every sip. ππ
Guava Delight - This was a great mix of Guava and chilli with the hint of salt. You would feel as if you are actually eating guava with all the masala. ππ
White Chocolate and Vanilla Milkshake - Ok.. so, this was a little off as it tasted more like sweet milk. It was not thick and creamy as well. I won't recommend this one. π
Plum & Passion - This is a vodka based cocktail along with pomegranate juice. It was recommended by the staff there and was actually amazing! Must have! ππ
Plum Fusion Sangria - This tasted different that other Sangrias and was already mentioned by the staff which was again a good thing. I liked it. Do try if you are a Sangria fan and would like to taste something new. π
Smash on the Rocks - I got s suggestion to try this drink when I asked for a whiskey based cocktail. This was a mix of Tennessee and lime juice with a tinge of orange. I simply loved this one! ππ
Classic Hot & Sour Soup - This Soup was so good and so different than the ones that you regularly get elsewhere. My non veg friend asked to put in chicken in hers as we had taken 1 by 2 and they obliged as well. That's what is call hospitality! I would definitely recommend this soup. ππ
Potato Sesame Toast - This was like smashed potato Tikkis with a top coating of white and black sesame seeds. This was very very flavourful! I loved it! ππ
Edamame & Truffle Dimsums - These were so soft and were served piping hot with the stuffing of edamame and truffle cheese. They were so creamy. I've never had dimsum before and now I'm a fan! ππ
Spiced Turnip Cakes - Many people out there were getting confused that since it has the term cake, it would be sweetish, but it was nothing like that. It was not very spicy though as the name suggests but they soft cubes and tasted more like fried paneer. If you like spicy stuff then skip this else go ahead and order!
Plum Tropical Fruit Citrus Cheesecake - This was the starrrrrr! Trust me, this is served like ice cream scoop and it was nothing less than paradise. π It is a must must have whether you like dessert or not. Just about perfectly sweet served on a bed of fruits like like watermelon, musk melon. πππ
To sum up, I would say that I never experimented with Asian cuisine after having at a certain place and not developing a notion about this. But this place had got won my heart and I would definitely recommend this place to each and everyone! π Do visit else you will miss out something really amazing! ππ

Mr.Priyank Sukhija and Ms. Natasha Jain - Take a Bow to give Mumbai its first Retail Restaurant. Let's get straight to the food. By the way This Place serves Asian food. Do try their Dimsums and Sushi.
It was a couple of pints of beer and food:
Bao - Spicy BBQ Chicken, presentation was simple. Texture looked good. Topped with white/black sesame and one red chilli. Made Fresh In house. Stuffing of spices barbecued chicken and a bit of scallions with chilli flakes. Could have been better had there been some more punch. Overall it was good.
Soup - Truffle white Fungi Clear Soup, this has aroma of the truffle the moment it came on the table. Nice balance of Bamboo shoot along with white fungus. Clear broth with some shimizu/enoki. Its mushroom and truffle all the way. Comfort and just perfect. Loved it.
Skipped the salad and opted for Dimsums - WHITE FUNGUS CHICKEN - this had a lovely texture. Outer layer had crumbed white fungus giving that crunchy feel. Stuffing of Minced chicken and bird eye chilli gave a good balance. Herbs played a good part. Overall a nice start to the Dimsums.
Pan Seared chicken Gyoza - (Japanese all the way) Tokyo style. Pan Seared to perfection till golden. Stuffed with Water chestnut/Cabbage and diced chicken. Tasted subtle.
Dynamic Prawns - This is their signature. Layer was just about perfect. Minced prawns/bamboo pith bird eye chilli. One ingredient which stood out and gave freshness was the coriander. Enhanced the dish along with other herbs and spices. Go for this.
Sushi - EDAMAME California Uramaki, this is different. Light at the same time made well. Perfect balance of Edamame/avocado/cream cheese and chives. Topped with Caviar. Binded well with the seaweed rice. Treat for the vegetarians.
One has to try the PRAWN TEMPURA URAMAKI - crisp/crunchy done well. Nice balance of spicy plum mayonnaise. A bit of avocado tempura caviar to get the crunchiness and teriyaki glaze. Made by day.
There was a small hick up (45 minutes) till our small plates arrived. Some flaw in the printer I guess. Made up with some good hot/spicy food.
Beijing Chicken - most of the Chinese restaurants serve this. But each one has their own way. It's a simple let classy. Diced chicken tender with Beijing sauce (corn starch/Vinegar/Hoisin sauce/soy/chicken broth) with bell peppers scallions' dry red chilli and peanuts. Use of peanuts was good. Overall a dish with a punch.
Chilli Bean Prawn - For me the dish of the day. Spicy/tangy just perfect. Presentation simple, taste wow. It's all about Prawn Styks and the birds eye chilli bean sauce. Hot/spicy. No rocket science but balance was the key. A mix of bell peppers and scallions. Loved the texture. Thick enough.
Mains: STIR FRIED TIGER PRAWNS and CHILI OIL NOODLES - Freshness of basil in the prawns was good. Basically its butter garlic prawns with pepper crispy scallions and soy. Flavours were good. This can go with either steam rice or Noodles. Chilli Oil noodles it was (after a long time) again a simple dish but takes you memory lane. No rocket science. Its burnt ginger and fermented noodles tossed in chilli oil. Comfort food.
Dessert - One has to have the NUTELLA SUSHI URAMAKI, loved it. Sushi yes but with Nutella/banana/jaggery topped with black/white sesame. To get the crunchiness Crispy honey banana. Not that sweet. Innovation at its best. Do try.
Overall - loved the food. Service still needs to be improved. A bit short staffed I felt. No other complaints. Place had been done up well. Interiors...
