Poetry by Love & Cheesecake – Chembur: A Disappointing Experience
During my recent visit to Poetry by Love & Cheesecake in Chembur, I was met with a series of disappointments that marred the experience.
Overpriced Offerings
The cheesecake, priced at ₹250, was notably small, making it feel overpriced for the portion received. While the brand is known for its premium desserts, the value for money at this outlet was lacking.
Service Charge Concerns
Upon choosing to dine in, I was informed of a 10% service charge that would be taxed. This practice raises questions, especially considering that, post-GST implementation, additional service charges are discretionary and should not be taxed. When I brought this up, the cashier, Rehaan, mentioned reversing the charge, but it left me wondering how many patrons might unknowingly pay this fee without questioning it.
Inconsistent Dessert Quality
The cheesecake served was inconsistent in temperature—half frozen and half warm—which detracted from the overall taste and texture. Such inconsistencies are unexpected, especially from an establishment reputed for its desserts.
Final Thoughts
While Poetry by Love & Cheesecake has garnered positive reviews for its ambiance and offerings at other locations, my experience at the Chembur branch was underwhelming. The combination of overpriced items, questionable billing practices, and inconsistent food quality makes it hard for me to recommend this outlet.

I am vegetarian Jain and I received a chicken dish which I was going to eat in full.. the restaurant doesn’t bother about the inconvenience caused to the customer.. in fact during the 1st call Mr. Eknath naradkar spoke with me and said he was the manager.. during 2nd call Mr. Ramesh spoke saying he is the manager and then in the 3rd call Mr. Eknath naradkar mentioned that there is no manager named Ramesh in their cafe.. they were not even ready to refund the amount to me.. I tried out their best seller that is the cheesy spaghetti and it was mind blowing. Me and my sister loved it. Then we asked them to recommend us something light to which they recommended us the grilled chicken pesto wrap which came with a side of peri peri fries, and cabbage with chipotle sauce. We also had their new York style cheesecake and tirimasu which was exceptional as usual. Overall it's pricey but worth every pennnyyy❤️. It satisfied my taste buds . THANKYOU! YOU GUYS...
