Spice of Shanghai: A Culinary Journey for the Senses. Located in the heart of Mumbai Goregaon, Spice of Shanghai is a true gem for anyone craving an exceptional Chinese dining experience. From the moment you step inside, the elegant yet inviting ambiance sets the stage for a memorable meal. But while the atmosphere is a delight, the real star of the show is, without a doubt, the food. On my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying two of their standout dishes: the Pot Rice and the Bamboo Rice. I can confidently say that both were a revelation. The Pot Rice was a masterclass in flavor and texture. Served in a traditional clay pot, the rice at the bottom had a perfect, crispy crust, while the rest was fluffy and aromatic, having soaked up all the savory goodness from chicken and prawn. Each spoonful was a balanced mix of rich, deep flavors that felt both comforting and exciting. But it was the Bamboo Rice that truly stole the show. This dish is not just food; it's an experience. The rice, cooked inside a fresh bamboo stalk, emerges with a subtle, earthy aroma that is absolutely intoxicating. The dish itself was a beautiful blend of delicate flavours, with the sweetness of the bamboo imparting a unique and refreshing taste to the tender. It's a dish that highlights the purity of its ingredients and showcases the skill of the chefs. Beyond these two dishes, the rest of the menu is equally impressive, with a wide range of options that cater to every palate. The service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable, adding to the overall fantastic experience. Spice of Shanghai isn't just a place to eat; it's a place to discover the art and soul of Chinese cuisine. If you're looking for an unforgettable meal, especially if you want to be wowed by unique and flavorful dishes like their Pot Rice and Bamboo Rice, this is the place to go. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more...
Read moreI recently visited "Spice of Shanghai," a newly opened restaurant in Goregaon West, conveniently close to my home. The restaurant offers both AC and non-AC sections, although the AC section is quite small. The ambiance is fantastic, making you feel like you've stepped into a genuine Chinese restaurant. One of the standout features of this restaurant is that they offer fried noodles and Schezwan sauce while you wait for your food a gesture that's becoming rare these days. The presentation of each dish is just wow, adding to the overall dining experience. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, suggesting some of their best dishes which truly lived up to the recommendation. We started with the Manchow soup, available in both veg and non-veg options, and it was delicious. Next, we had a dish called Chicken Shanghai, which was superb. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly coated with Shanghai sauce. The Paneer Crispy was also good. We then ordered the Chopper Rice, which comes with three different types of rice and a sweet yet spicy gravy—an interesting and tasty combination. The Garlic Burnt Rice was another good choice. Overall, the prices are very affordable, making it a great option for Chinese food cravings. It was a fantastic experience, and I definitely plan to visit again, especially since it's so...
