Spring Fields — Restaurant in Mumbai

This place is conveniently located near the Western Express Highway. Valet parking is available. This place has gone through a complete makeover and boyy, they really have pulled off the act well. The decor is classy, the ambience is good, the food is hot and spicy. There was a time some ten years back, when the owners car was the only car parked near the hotel, today cars are madly packed in the parking space. Maybe the good food and immaculate customer service have helped in making captive customers. Once upon a time, this place served only vegetarian food and beer( a tactical blunder), now they have evolved to serve all types of food. Back then, this place served as a second fiddle to the more prominent and flourishing Su-Swagat hotel. Today, this place has carved a niche of its own and is no comparison to the badly deteriorated shady place like Su-Swagat. What a complete turnaround !! The food is good, the waiters are friendly, they have a small party hall for 60 people approx, Overall a safe bet to have any kind of food and...

Ambience... Nothing great, Appears cramped up due to many a pillars. Becomes a bit noisy if crowded. Food is also nothing great. Chinese dishes that we ordered had good taste. Tandoori Chicken.... Taste wise ok but not worth mentioning about as exceptional. Marinade not reavhed deep till the bone, so the cold storage smell persisted. Rates are comparatively on the higher side. As regards service, it was again not very pleasant. The waiter seemed to be in persistent hurry to clear the plates without bothering to see if we had still something left to eat from the plate. Had to repeatedly tell to not clear the plates till we had finished eating.. Dont know if that's the routine there to clear diners fast... But then the restaurant wasn't full either. We were seated just near the kitchen entry exit doorway... that also was a disturbance. Menu card for the Chinese non veg section had lesser menu. No mutton starters in the Tandoor section. Overall... Nothing great.. Definitely...

Spring fields is one of the old restaurants in Borivali East. Located on Dattapada road, near western express highway. Good location. Big restaurant with a party hall. Has a sitting arrangement for approx 50 people at a time. Good ambiance with ample seating and lights. Has a flat screen TV to enjoy live sports while having food. Good options of Vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Also has a bar, with good choice of alcohol, beer, cocktails and mocktails. We ordered paneer chilli as a starter which was good in taste. Quantity was also OK. They give good dry chakhna with the drinks. We also ordered chicken tandoori lollipops, which was well cooked but tasted below average. In the main course we ordered boneless chicken gravy, it was very plain and no taste. Daal khichadi was ok ok. So overall food was below average. Not worth, no value for money. Service was average.
