Utekar Fisheries Private Limited — Local services in Mumbai

During my initial visits to Utekar Fisheries, I had wonderful experiences and even gave them a 5-star rating (which is mentioned below). However, my recent encounter was disappointing. I purchased guppies and neon Tetras, but the handling of the fish was careless, resulting in damage to a guppy's fin. Sadly, the fish didn't survive, and I lost several neon Tetras too. The staff assured me the Tetras were fine due to lack of plants, but they were clearly unwell and looking dull. I was overcharged by 90 bucks as a miscommunication, and although they offered a replacement as a guppy, the losses were disheartening. Unfortunately, the helpful staff member with curly hair was absent during my latest visit. I sincerely hope that Utekar Fisheries takes steps to address these issues and ensures better experiences for their customers.

Review of my 1st visit: I had a fantastic experience at Utekar Fisheries, one of the top aquarium stores in Mumbai. The staff there provided excellent guidance without any pressure to buy unnecessary items. Their knowledge and expertise were truly impressive. The collection of fishes and plants was satisfactory, and everything looked healthy and well-maintained. What stood out was that despite their professionalism, the prices at Utekar Fisheries were fair and competitive with the market rates. I highly recommend this store to anyone in search of a trustworthy and reliable...

Beware! I recently visited the shop to buy a turtle tank and UV light bulb and few other things. The shop is quite big and the staff was helpful until we realized they cheated us. My friend and I picked up the stuff we required and were getting the turtle tank (Rs. 850), fish bowl (Rs. 150) & a local UV light bulb (Rs. 360) billed at the counter. We were busy talking and simply paid by card. As we got out of the shop I noticed the bill and realized the shop staff had charged us Rs. 1850 for the local UV light bulb!!!!! I checked the box of the bulb and saw there was a handwritten sticker of Rs. 1850 pasted over another sticker of Rs. 360!!!! Immediately I went back into the shop and questioned them. I showed them how they are cheating us. The staff started being adamant of the price. I even showed them the price of the same bulb on Amazon (Rs. 307) then. The girl sitting at the billing counter made some calls to whoever in the office and said they can refund the money after deducting Rs. 50!!!! After being cheated and looking at their arrogance, I wasn't going to pay them even a rupee extra! I pushed back and got the entire refund! Please be cautious and check the bill and pricing properly. There was no price sticker on the turtle tank.....I won't be surprised if they over charged me for that...

The fishes are quite well kept but tanks are not as attractive as it was when the shop started. You not only get fishes here but also other pets like budgies, cockatiels l,and other pet birds, cats ,dogs , and all kinds of pet accessories like the new aquarium 3d background, gravels, showpieces oxygen,also personalised aquarium which is their speciality and they are experts in it, they also have pet grooming and spa services and not only that but at affordable sizes. The price is on the expensive side but the fishes are well kept and quality kept and quarantined, appart from the the fishes and other pets available there they also have all kinds of legal pets available on special request. Parking is also available in front of it. The price for all as I mentioned earlier is on the expensive side but you surely get what you pay for. If the shop is reading this I think you guys should make your shop more attractive like it was earlier I see negligence in that part. Appart from that it's a great shop a must visit place for pet lovers. The staff is very careful and great at their work. I personally thank them for the great experience...
