Let me start by saying this place is actually a hidden gem in true terms n one visiting here will surely won't be disappointed at all.. This place is bit small in terms of size but compensated for it being fantastic in other departments.. When we entered out here we were pleasantly n delightfully surprised by the decor of this place.. This 20 odd seater AC place has very relaxed n chilled out vibes n is adequately lit .. Food out here is so good that you will like to eat n eat.. Taste is good, quantity is apt n presentation is top class like that of any five star restaurant.. We were served complimentary papads n masala onions after we placed our order.. We started with truffle cheese khulcha n they were absolutely amazing.. With subtle hint of chives n sea salt they tasted so good.. Dash of truffle enhanced this dish... We then ordered for shahi Paneer samosa n wow what a dish it was.. This yummy n crispy triangles were filled up with really delicious Paneer chunks n it did go very well with mint n spicy coriander chutney served along.. It was very little oily.. Amazingly made.. We then ordered for kala chana shammi n these kebabs were really scrumptious n had super soft texture making it melt the moment it was kept in mouth.. This one is served with very spicy coriander chutney which made experience of having this one more enjoyable.. In main we ordered for rasgulle ki sabzi.. Yes u heard it right,a 'subzi' whichs made of spongy rasgullas.. Fried balls of chenna are cooked in a tangy and creamy gravy while preparing this one n its nice unique taste will make u have this one more n more.. We also had Paneer butter masala n this rich n delicious dish was made up of aromatic spices, cream n butter n had succulent pieces of Paneer in it.. Was very authentic in taste, simply finger licking good.. Cooker tamak Dal disappointed me a bit.. Not that it was not good but it was not spicy at all as I feel it should be n had too much of butter n cream in it.. We had all this with variety of breads.. Garlic naan n pudina laccha parantha was very nice.. Mirchi laccha Paratha was also decent.. Butter naan Paratha was OK.. Best of all was Ulta tawa Paratha.. It was very nice n one should surely try it.. As I was not happy with Dal so we ordered for rice with chole which is not mentioned in menu but they happily agreed to serve.. Chole was simply outstanding, very authentic in taste .. Rice was cooked well.. Overall amazing food experience.. Best thing I liked was these people were very accommodating n practical.. So if u r in small group n if u feel one portion of starters is less n two portion is more then in such scenerio they will serve starters in one n half portion too n charge u accordingly.. Loved that thing.. In desserts we had paan ice cream which has two scoops of very well made paan ice cream served in big bowl n it was very good in taste.. One coming here should surely try their phalse kulfi out here.. This Berry (jamun) stick kulfi is priced high (245 Rs) but once you have this one you will understand why they charge so much for it.. It was absolutely like having virtual jamun n it was more like sorbet so did not melt fast n was very very enjoyable.. Service was spectacular.. Server was very well behaved, had complete knowledge of food served n was always happy to help us... Price wise some might find it a ted bit expensive, specially for place, but trust me you won't regret spending that money.. Loved my experience out here n I'm surely visiting here soon to try their other delicacies which I'm sure won't disappoint me
PS - THEY SERVE STARTERS OUT HERE IN EVEN ONE N HALF PORTION N THEY DO CHARGE ACCORDINGLY .. RESERVATIONS RECOMMENDED...
Read moreDisgusting attitude of servers and service. Food was ok. They levied huge service charge on top of expensive menu and argued with us when we told to remove it!!!! Absolutely do not eat from here ever, especially if you want to have a happy occasion.
We went for lunch on my birthday. The waiter was weird from the start. There were only 2 tables. one of them was us and it was a very small seating area. the waiter just wouldn't listen to the whole thing we were saying and would walk away on us when we were trying to ask him smth about the food. and he kept not coming when we called to ask again. my friend wanted to ask essentially if they were giving birthday freebie bc this is a nice restaurant and asked "it's her birthday, so would you have something small? like cake or the like" and the waiter said "we dont have cake but we have other dessert". walked away before we could ask what other dessert. we assume he's put in the order and it's probably complimentary because he didnt even say what. but he was rude so i was like ill double check. turns out the waiter didnt even tell us what he ordered, IF he even put up an order for anything, and when i aksed he said they were charging for it. This was very unexpected and felt odd but I brushed it off. My last straw was when i asked him to put the rice on my plate and the rice in the bowl into a package to go. he straight up went like "do it yourself" (aap kijiye) to put the rice in the bowl ??? and they kept waiting for our next thing as if they wanted us to leave and gave us cleaning wet napkins before we had even finished eating properly. The worst part was when the BILL arrived. i get the bill and on top of the cgst and sgst there's service charge of 85 bucks. its not a huge deal but i hated the service + ur alr making a profit on ur food bc uk fine dining small portions etc + service charge is voluntary in india bc servers salaries are added into the food bill and service gst so i dont want to pay it! politely asked them to remove the charge. he said no. i said the law says its voluntary. he said talk to the manager. manager is like "it says here on the menu we levy 7% charge" i was like ok ive been to many restaurants and you can SAY you have service charge but its not mandatory. its literally by law OPTIONAL. all restaurants ive been have without complaining removed service charge bc its mfn. its extra profit india doesnt have a tip system. obviously i eventually gave in esp because he said "theres a new law that if its printed in the menu you have to pay it in full". i gave in,but later googled and there is no new law. in fact I can sue tamak under consumer protection act. Horrible experience ruined my birthday, it felt like they were just being rude and cruel because we were...

Sep 19: What a find! This place is in an unexpected place. Take the lane next to the Tommy Hilfiger showroom on Linking Road till you reach the Rajesh Khanna garden corner. It's a small place and nicely done. The ambience is very welcoming and warm.
We were the first ones here that evening. Chef Vikram was there and he suggested the dishes to try. And glad we took his suggestion. From feeling like another North Indian type restaurant to really enjoying some superb food, it was a journey. They provide the normal papad and onions before the meal. However, this comes with 3 types of chutney - in guess what - small pressure cookers - nice.
Truffle cheese kulcha are small round kuchas with amazing stuffing and peppered with rock salt. Lucknawi tokri chaat was also good though nothing different. Shahajahanabadi Paneer tikka was tender and tasteful with kasoori methi. We also had chicken tikka for the kid but it turned to be spicy and the chef was quick enough to get another plate which was not spicy - chicken was tender and the taste was really delicious. for the mains, we had the Amristari chole kulcha - just like in Amristar this comes with onions and the special chutney - the dish was as good as having it in the bylanes of Amristar.
Please don't end your meal without having the pan ice cream - this is amazing - 2 large scoops of ice cream stuffed with pan fillings.
The service is warm and with the chef taking personal interest in the guests.
Tamak is an amazing experience with superb food...
