This place is suitable for vegetarian families. The serving quantity is good. For example- 1 dosa is quite filling for 1 person who is moderately hungry. The pricing is also fair. Sada dosa is good but honestly I have had better elsewhere — this one was very heavy to digest as compared with other famous South Indian chains. The podi was also fine. Sambar and chutney was good. Onion rawa dosa was okay. Rawa masala dosa was good. Luckily they followed our one instruction of giving bhaji separately. However, the seats were dirty and there were many insects (on the table, on the chair, some were even on the food which we had to waste) so I'd say hygiene improvement is needed to a great extent. HYGIENE MATTERS MORE THAN DECOR. Even service wise improvement is expected. For instance, we had kept one dirty plate on the side below another plate so nobody accidentally used it and the waiter simply pulled it out and wanted to use it without checking but thankfully we stopped him. We had also ordered hara bhara kebab (which was looking great on the outside but disappointing not only due to the underwhelming taste but also due to the artificial green colour — as someone who cooks regularly, I can tell if the colour is natural or artificial). For this item they kept asking us every few seconds "serve karu?" while we were clearly eating something else. There was no room to keep extra plates on the table still the waiter tried to push things around. One of the waiters wrote one item on the backside of the paper and probably didn't tell the staff inside or didn't enter it in the system so one item was never sent to our table, however, fortunately, they didn't charge us for it either so we let it go. Then we asked for a filter coffee because we know South Indian filter coffee is famous and they said they didn't serve it! Seriously? No filter coffee at an Udupi Restaurant! Honestly I don't know what to expect! I wonder if I should give them a second chance or just forget it. I’d say this’d be more like a last option if no other option is feasible. If this is the case on a weekday with hardly a few tables occupied, I am wondering what happens on weekends with more crowd! In the end we were given some other table's bill. This left a rather negative impression on us despite the fairly good food and we think some other smaller places have demonstrated much...
