I visited this beautiful place, The Common Ground Coffee Bar located in Civil Lines, Near Yes Bank, GPO Square. I absolutely loved the vibes over here. They two types of seating. Indoor area and a beautiful lush green outdoor dear with great Aesthetics. Coming to the food, their menu is great. It’s damm good for your Gram😉.
I tried: Broccoli Soupuccino: It was something very new and perfect for chilly winters.
Ulta Vada Pav: Inside Out Vada Pav with Pav literally inside the Vadas. This dish stole my heart. It was so good and filling that I have added this dish in my forever favourite list.
Khada Sandwich: Sandwich is actually served vertically 😍. I tried Paneer Bhurjee Variant in it. It also had aloo patty inside it. The aloo patty and Paneer bhurjee was nicely complimenting each other. Taste was really good.
Malaysian Wok Tossed: We asked Captain for some recommendations from the menu and he suggested us this delicacy. It’s basically a Paneer grilled with amazing Malaysian flavours. I liked the good use of English vegetables in it.
Pad Thai Noodles: These were basically Flat Thai Noodles. Noodles were greatly cooked and I loved the good use of Peanuts in it. It was rightly cooked.
Overall I had a great experience. They have some great coffee menu as well. Will definitely visit this place more often to try super amazing delicacies...
Read moreAbsolutely Disgraceful Experience – Ruined Our Anniversary
If you're planning a special evening, STAY AWAY from this place. We booked this so-called “hotel” for our first anniversary dinner with 8 people, hoping for a decent night. What we got was an embarrassment I’ll never forget.
They have a spacious upper deck but denied us seating there, claiming they didn't have enough staff to serve upstairs. Seriously? Then why even keep it open?
We waited 20 miserable minutes just to be seated, and only got a table by 9:15 PM. And guess what? It was like dining in a post-apocalyptic mess hall. Midway through dinner, we ordered Repeat jeera rice, dal fry, and kofta—basic items—and were bluntly told “Out of stock.” Are you kidding me? At 9:30 PM, they ran out of groceries.
To top off this circus, they couldn’t even provide hot water for finger bowls. They literally said “No hot water.” What kind of joke establishment is this? You're running a hotel in a premium location and can't manage food, service, or basic hygiene?
I was completely humiliated in front of my guests. This place is a disaster—disorganized, understaffed, and utterly unprofessional. Never coming back. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy being...
Read moreMy visit to The common ground left me with mixed feelings. While the food was satisfactory, there were some notable shortcomings that detracted from the overall experience.
Firstly, I was disappointed to discover that the restaurant served non-vegetarian dishes labeled as vegetarian. This carelessness with dietary preferences was disconcerting and reflected a lack of attention to detail.
Moreover, the service was subpar. The starters took an unusually long time to arrive, leaving me feeling neglected and impatient. The limited number of staff seemed overwhelmed, struggling to keep up with the demands of a busy Sunday crowd.
Furthermore, the prices at The Garden Bistro seemed disproportionately high for the quality of the food and service provided. I found myself questioning the value proposition of the menu items, considering the aforementioned shortcomings.
In conclusion, The Common Ground fell short of expectations. The mislabeling of dishes, delayed service, crowded environment, and overpriced food left me with a sense of disappointment. While there were glimpses of potential, improvements in several key areas are needed to elevate the overall dining experience to a more...
