i have correctly learned from my experience that there are very few restaurants who maintain their charm , however food studio has degraded its quality in terms of food and service with what they had started.
i happen to visit this place last nigh with a friend for dinner, navi mumbai has very few restaurants which provide you delectable food and seamless service. for me food studio was one of them until last night.
i have visited food studio quite often and been in and out with their food menu. without opening their menu we went masala papad and paneer with crackling spinach to start with. the crackling spinach with paneer was bought to our table, it was paneer served in oriental style which is how i didnt have for the last two times that i ordered. the last time two times that i ordered it was served in a different way but surely not a oriental style.
this was mentioned to the waiter as and while he was placing this on the table to which he replied "this is how we prepared" he seemed to be confused and yet answered. i requested if i can see the manager, when narrated the same story to manager, he said this is how we cook but however if you wish to have something else please go for that. thus we decided to go for cheese chilly kebabs, when asked about this to the waiter he said these are kebabs that are made out of paneer, cheese and chilly. the kebabs where bought to the table, below subtle in terms of presentation and when i had a bite it was nothing but some anomalous filling within it. we didnt like it , there were no traces to paneer, cheese in the fried rolls. this was questioned to waiter and manager, they had nothing to say on this expect this is how we cook. when later questioned can you show us paneer, cheese present in kebabs , they where all rue on this.
by this time our moods were set out, so we decided to get our bill. we had requested them to go for bottled water. when the bill came it had rendered us with the service charge which was not mention anywhere on the menu. when questioned they said you have to mention them before the bill prints out. on questioning weather they have mentioned this anywhere on the menu or any notice has been denoted they were then ready to reimburse the charge back. a regular bottle of aquafina which has its cost of 20 rs was charged 2.5 times more than the mrp and when questioned they had no clear answer to it.
food studio this time has bamboozled me terribly in terms of food taste, presentation and service. while having a glance at other tables, the pizza made where not they usually were , presentation lacked its...
Read moreThe Food studio is the kitchen and bar outlet which has several outlets in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. We visited this which is present near the Satra plaza, Vashi on palm beach road.
The place has great ambience. It has 2 floors in the same outlet. The lighting conditions with the music feels really good while eating or having drink.
The staff and the manager all have good and kind behaviour. They also suggest best dishes and drinks we can have. Also they have different offers across all the week.
The seating arrangements are good. They've done all the arrangements considering covid conditions , by keeping a table space in between 2 tables.
Their food and drinks menu is really attractive and also they have wide variety veg and non veg food and drinks including cocktails and Mocktails and other alcohol drinks.
Now coming on the food we ordered -
In Mocktails we had Naam Thai and April Lady. Both the drinks were really refreshing. Naam Thai has pineapple juice base with lemon grass Decoction and basil combined with lime extract lemon juice. April Lady has mango nector combined with vanilla and coconut cream along with mint and caramel.]
[ In Starters we had Nawabi Murgh and Chicken Maharaj pizza. In Nawabi Murgh , they have marinated tender chicken over night in tandoor masala. It was stuffed with cheese and cooked in slay oven. It was really mouth watering. Maharaja Pizza, as name suggests it was really big and crusty. It had margarita topped with grilled chicken, American corn and veggies like caramelized onion , olive and mushrooms. Both the dishes were chef recommended.]
[ In mains we had Cilantro Chicken and Chitodi murgh with naan and Amritsari stuffed kulcha. In Cilantro Chicken, chicken was marinated with herbs and then grilled. They served it with mashed potatoes, veggies and rosemary sauce. Veggies were really fresh and awesome. In Chitodi Murgh, chicken was marinated in masala and cooked with capsicum and onion gravy. Butter naan and stuffed amritsari kulcha was soft , well cooked and amazing in taste.
It was really awesome experience with food. Everything was so perfect, be it food , be it service, be it Ambience. Top notch experience. Highly...
Read moreFirst thing first, the service is cordial. As soon as I entered the premises, I was greeted with a smile. It makes a huge difference to the dining experience though live music adds more charm. What to expect more when they have live music too. It was Wednesday night and they have live music.
The ambiance is classy, subtle yet captivating. They have enough seating, ground as well as first floor. Seating is comfortable, couches as well as chair. Place is also suggested for big gathering. Let's come to the main thing, the food and drink.
Tried various dishes and drinks amd loved almost each and everything I tried off their menu.
Started with a few cocktails. Bartender fulfilled my request to make the drink the way I asked.
Bull frog: My all time favourite. Five spirits with red bull feel. Blue Curacao gives it much needed sweetness and picturesque look. Perfect blend of alcohol and red bull. Loved it to the core.
Red wine sangria: Wherever I go, I make sure to try red wine sangria if it is available. In here, it was as good as I can ask for. Fresh cut apple as topping.
In appetizers, had quite a few dishes and liked all of them.
Makhmali kumbh: Cheese stuffed mushrooms. Soft and delicious mushroom. Melting in the mouth kinda feeling. Must try from their menu.
Murgh tikka: It needs no introduction. Luscious chicken pieces marinated perfectly and left over the charcoal. Served with green chutney and lemon wedges. Also, had pickled onion as a side to murgh tikka.
After a sumptuous appetizer session, head onto main course. Tried rarrah murgh and mushroom babycorn masala.
Rarrah murgh: Perfectly spiced up gravy. Chicken pieces were luscious. Goes well with tandoori roti. Thick gravy preparation. Topped with fried onion and coriander. Red chilli in gravy. Minced chicken feel.
Mushroom babycorn masala: Combination of mushroom and babycorn is always a delight. Thick gravy. Topped with coriander.
Finally, ordered sizzling brownie to sum it up. Brownie was full of nuts and hot chocolate did wonders. Perfectly sweetened brownie.
Overall, I loved this place. Definitely looking forward to visiting the place again, and for sure on Wednesday to enjoy...
