Disappointing Sunday Experience at Grace Restaurant, Kharghar
We have had pleasant weekday experiences at Grace Restaurant, Kharghar—especially with their Nadan Oonnu (Keralite unlimited thali), which offers good food and courteous service. However, our recent visit on a Sunday was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
On Sundays, the restaurant only serves Sadhya, which is almost double the price of the regular thali with just two or three extra items. We were unaware of this change and arrived a little before 12 PM, only to be told Sadhya starts after 12. Unfortunately, the staff member who took our order didn’t inform us of this either—possibly because he was new. As a result, we waited over 45 minutes before we were served anything.
What made matters worse was the overall attitude and rushed service. Though the meal was advertised as unlimited, staff kept hovering around and pushing us to finish quickly. Even before we finished our main course, payasam (which was frankly subpar in taste) was served. The owner himself was visibly in a rush to clear our table, despite other large tables being vacant. When we requested to order juices and cold drinks, we were simply handed the bill without being served. Yet, we paid in full.
When we politely asked why the service was rushed despite us having waited so long, the owner blamed the new staff and seemed entirely disinterested in taking accountability. He only cared about how long we were seated, not how much of that time was spent waiting for food.
In summary, if you’re planning to visit on a Sunday, be prepared for:
Being rushed to finish your meal—even if you haven’t eaten properly.
Poor coordination between staff and lack of information if someone is new.
No patience from management, even if delays are on their end.
Spending over ₹3000 for a meal with guests, only to be treated this way, was truly disappointing. Grace Restaurant may be good on weekdays, but Sundays are definitely not...

The Ambience looked okish to me; the staffs kind of helped me on what to have with what. The negative reviews kind of pulled me back on experimenting but what's fun if not experienced was in mind. We had chicken kundattam and chicken kerala chilly. The starter was soo lip smacking that my entire family just reordered the chicken kundattam and their chicken Ghee Roast and kadhal porotta took us to a different dimension. We literally needed someone to help us get up that we just kept enjoying every bite. Been to many restaurants but very less are those restaurant who lets your tummy thank you for the delicacies. The management was soo welcoming they served as free paysam after knowing we came from andheri...
