Visited Maharashtra Lunch Home on a Sunday night for dinner—and what an experience! The place was bustling, and we were met with a huge queue at the entrance. Despite the crowd, the staff told us there would be a 20-minute wait, and true to their word, we were seated in exactly 20 minutes. Full marks for crowd management—efficient, organized, and courteous.

What stood out even more was that they took our order while we waited, so once we were seated, our food arrived within 5 minutes. Now that’s smart service!

The Food:

We tried two thalis, and both were packed with flavor and authenticity:

🔸 Bombil Fry Thali

3 crispy pieces of Bombil Fry

1 Bhakri

Surmai Curry

Sukat (dried shrimp chutney)

Thecha

Sol Kadi

Kolam or Indrayani rice (we picked Indrayani)

🔸 Tisrya Thali

2 Chapatis

Prawn Masala (star of the night—absolutely outstanding!)

Tisrya (clam) Masala

Surmai Curry

Thecha

Sol Kadi

Indrayani rice

Every component on the plate was well-prepared, spiced just right, and full of coastal Maharashtrian flavors. The Prawn Masala especially deserves a special mention—rich, aromatic, and cooked to perfection.

Service & Ambience:

Quick, no-fuss service

Clean, cozy ambience with a homely touch

Mrs. Vandana Shetty manages the place like a BOSS! Her presence and control over operations is comendable.

We paid ₹1000 for both thalis, surely coming back to...

Located conveniently near the highway, Maharashtra Lunch Home in Khandeshwar is a gem of a place for those who love authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. With both open and valet parking available, accessibility is hassle-free – a major plus, especially for families or groups.

The restaurant is thoughtfully designed with separate floors for vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners, ensuring a comfortable and respectful experience for all. This is particularly helpful for those with dietary preferences or restrictions.

We visited for lunch with kids, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. We ordered Surmai thalis and Egg thalis, and both exceeded our expectations. The fish was exceptionally fresh, well-marinated, and perfectly cooked – a true highlight of the meal. The thalis were well-balanced and flavorful, offering a genuine taste of Maharashtra.

What stood out most was the authenticity of the food. Each dish felt homely yet refined, a testament to the chef’s dedication to tradition. It’s a place that seafood lovers will thoroughly enjoy, but vegetarians won’t feel left out either – the variety and care given to the vegetarian section is commendable.

Overall, Maharashtra Lunch Home offers great food, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a convenient location. It’s highly recommended for anyone craving a satisfying...

This visit was due to the Google reviews I read. I went in with somewhat less expectations. There is not a lot of space to park 4 wheelers but it is manageable. After entering the restaurant the basic expectation of aroma was fulfilled with a nice flavourful smell of food. The staff was warm and the ambience looked good. I went in at day time for lunch so couldn't get hold of the lights. My wife and I ordered two thalis - kolhapuri and varhadi. I belong to vidarbha so I had to try varhadi . The first two to three bites were just tasting and getting the difference between the two thalis. Later on after 1/2 chapati was over and the spices kicked in. Varhadi thali for me stood out completely because of authenticity. What a taste and flavour to the curry. And as we were about to finish the staff was attentive enough to ask at the right moment for rice. As there was no break in the flow, I would appreciate the staff for this. My rating is solely dependent on varhadi curry that was up to the mark. I will surely try other authentic dishes from around the state served here. But for now I would rate it 5 stars . Taste- 4.5/5 Pricing - 4.5/5 Ambience...

We were driving 🚗 back home from the Uran highway when we suddenly got a craving for something to eat. That’s when I remembered that we had all been wanting to try seafood.🦞 A friend had mentioned Maharashtra Lunch Home near Nerul to us, so I made a U-turn and headed straight towards Panvel. 🅿️ was easy to find, thanks to a valet attendant, and this was on a Friday evening at 8 p.m. ⏰ As we walked upstairs and entered the restaurant, we noticed only four people 👭👫dining. After we sat down, the servers quickly approached us to take our order. We decided on a veg thali, a pomfret fry for starters, a prawns thali, and a mutton thali. The veg food was incredibly delicious🤤 , with the paneer being the highlight ⭐️ of the meal. When the pomfret 🐟 fry arrived, it was so tasty that we finished it within minutes. The prawns thali was delicious, though a bit spicy, and the mutton thali was equally tasty. The sol curry was good too. I ordered two salty fresh lime sodas 🥤 during the meal, but they were a bit too salty and lemony — they could definitely use less salt. Overall, we really enjoyed both the food and the service.

Absolutely disappointing food. Since the panvel branch opened, I’ve been a regular customer and the food was always decent and fulfilling. These days however they have reduced the quantity and quality of food. Imagine a 600 rupee thali looking like this. Not only is it visually unappealing the food was also tasteless. The neer dosa was under cooked, the fried fish extremely oily. I had also ordered prawns Koliwada which was absolutely bland. The chocolate mousse is 4/10 at best. The dining experience was also ruined with people standing in front of the table and staring at you to get up while your main course is yet to arrive. It was both uncomfortable and unpleasant. People of panvel really need to open their eyes and stop lining outside this restaurant which is taking undue advantage of the popularity it has gotten. I usually wouldn’t criticise food so harshly, but I really felt robbed by this underwhelming experience.
