Every once in a while, there comes a place that totally redefines the concept of fine dine, of good food and of superlative service. 1BHK Superbar is one such place.
Having recently launched in Baner, 1BHK Superbar offers al fresco seating, mezzanine seating as well as a soon-to-be-launched brassiere indoors. With amazing designs and artefacts adorning the wall, the vibe of the place is totally off the charts.
“We need the staff to be involved with the customers, interact with them and ensure the best experience of their life”. Owner Rajat Grover has designed the place exactly with this motto in mind which has translated into a beautiful ambiance. The table hooked to a winch to lift and drop it to allow customers to sit on its other side, is a classic example of involving the staff with the customer’s dining experience.
Starting off with the cocktails, the LIIT was a standard affair while the Taxicol [an overload of rum, with white, dark and spiced rums] was an immensely potent drink. One drink and you are ready to call a taxi to take you home, hence the name.
The 1BHK Bartenders Special Vodka Cheesecake Fusion was a stunner of a drink. Made with premium quality Ketel One vodka and blended with cheesecake [and served with one], this was as delicious to gulp as it was gorgeous to look at.
The Nasha Paan is made with vodka and gin and has a nice strong flavor of the betel leaf.
The Valencia Orange and Apple Fusion Salad [Rs. 255] had some delicious flavors while the Striped Chicken Salad [Rs. 300] had an overload of sesame seeds which skewed the taste balance a little.
While the Mushroom Scampi [Rs. 250] wasn’t the best due to the all-too-watery mushrooms, the Garlic Mushrooms with Pita Bread [Rs. 265] was insanely delicious. Didn’t even need the pita, TBH.
Coming to the granddaddy of all mezze platters, the 1BHK “King” Non-Veg Mezze Platter with Seafood [Rs. 1475] may cost a bomb but is totally worth it. Go in a gang and you are sorted, food-wise. Sufficient for 4-5 people, this monstrous mezze includes hummus, beetroot hummus, muhammara, baba ganoush and tzatziki dips. The finger foods include lamb and chicken kebabs, potato wedges, grilled prawns, roasted almonds, pomegranates and pickled vegetables.
The nazzas are the predecessors to the now-popular nanzas, where the pizza toppings are based on a bed of naan, instead of the regular pizza base. Be it the Butter Paneer Nazza [Rs. 305] or the Mutton Kheema Nazza [Rs. 340] or the Butter Chicken Nazza [Rs. 320] here at 1BHK Superbar, every nazza was perfectly cooked and with the right amount of toppings, these were brilliant.
The Original Shepherd's Pie [Rs. 515] from UK was delicious to the last bite while the Zaatar Marinated Roasted Chicken [Rs. 475] from the Middle East was mildly spiced and sported some lovely flavors.
1BHK Cottage Cheese Steak in JD Sauce [Rs. 515] had such amazing sauce, it simply elevated the humble paneer to the next level of #foodgasm. The addition of Jack Daniels whisky to the sauce, nothing short of sheer maniac brilliance.
The Grilled John Dory with Almond Rosemary Dressing [Rs. 685] was so perfectly cooked, you could literally cut it without any efforts whatsoever. And the almond slices on top gave the needed crunch.
The 1BHK Blueberry {Philadelphia} Cheesecake [Rs. 245] had the perfect crunchy base and had the best flavors. Hands down, one of the best I have ever had. Anywhere.
The Choc Choc Hazelnut Brownie with Vanilla Ice-cream and Hot Chocolate Sauce [Rs. 230] was another piece of heaven on a plate. Lovely bitterish brownie with chilled ice cream and hot chocolate sauce.
The Napoli Tiramisu [Rs. 245] was a plate of perfection by itself. Perfectly prepared tiramisu with the crunchy biscuit for company. Oh my God!!
1BHK Superbar has lofty aims when it comes to superlative food and drinks, exemplary service and gorgeous ambiance and they are ushering in the class of a high end fine-dine to the Pune...

Salads: Valencia Orange and Apple Fusion Salad (Spain/Fusion) :Freshly Diced fruits and some some cheese along with jalapeños and black olives to cut the taste. It was nice mixed flavorful bowl.
Tapas: Garlic Mushrooms with Pita Bread (London) : The Garlic Mushroom dip is to die for so #yummilious. This is also served with Naan instead of pita bread, which make it an Indian version of it.
Mushroom Scampi (Italy): This is a Vegetarian version of Prawns Mushroom Scampi. It is stuffed and aptly baked with a Googy Cheese. It is served in fully loaded miniature Truck.
Nazza: Butter Paneer Nazza: First came the Nazza and then came the Nanza as we all know! They are pioneers to introduce this dish way back in early 2000 and still going strong. So they have added this to the Menu of 1BHK as well. Loaded with Paneer chunks marinated in butter and mix of Indian Spices on a naan as a base to make it a proper MADE IN INDIA with all the love!
Mains:
1BHK Cottage Cheese Steak in JD Sauce (Indian/fusion) : This is a perfect fusion food with alcohol. A big chunk of stuffed paneer along with some grilled veggies tossed in Barbeque Sauce which had Jack Daniel whisky infused in it. A total blissful food served on the table.
Desserts:
1BHK Blueberry {Philadelphia} Cheesecake: This what I call the original Philadelphia Cheese Cake. The Cheese used is originally imported from Philadelphia and this can be felt right when you scoop it. Purely delicious.
Choc Choc Hazelnut Brownie with Vanilla Ice-cream and Hot Chocolate Sauce: 1BHK is here to serve a trend no more sizzling Brownie served on the hot plate! Freshly baked Hazelnut Brownie with a dollop of a vanilla ice-cream makes this dessert stand out from the rest.
Napoli Tiramisu: Again 1BHK has it's own version of Tiramisu. It is served with crisp and crunchy biscuit to balance the taste of tiramisu.
Overall....
1BHK has taken the Pune's food and party scene to the next level. The food is delicious and good amount of portion size. They don't have a dance floor as such but you can taken on the table and let loose all your madness of the party mood...no one is stopping you doing this. It's time to change the way Pune party and 1BHK is the place to be.

Mocktails
Under 18 Champagne: Strawberry crush and cranberry juice topped with red bull was too strong for my taste bud.
Tropical Green Lemonade: Mint based lemonade done along with sprite was superb in taste, it was not too sweet and the mint flavor was well balanced. It was undoubtedly the best from the lot which I had. #Musthave
Passion Fruit: A mix of orange juice and passion fruit syrup had apple julienne in it and was good in taste.
Blood on the Dance Floor: A mix of Fresh watermelon juice, lemon juice, triple sec syrup was truly refreshing. Blood on the dance floor is actually a cocktail with vodka base but the bartender served us this mocktail version which is worth a try. #Recommended
Starters
Mushroom Scampi [Rs 250]: This dish is prepared in two stages, first the mushrooms are deep fried with thin coating of bread crumbs, then it is stuffed with a mix of spinach, baby corn and cheese and then baked. The coating was crispy however the stuffing had too much cheese and didn’t impress my taste bud.
